Clock Is Ticking
Hillary Clinton says that when her husband left office — Social Security was projected to be solvent until the year 2055. She contends that now — solvency is predicted to end in 2041 — a loss of 14 years — because of what she calls “fiscal irresponsibility” by the Bush administration.
But the Social Security Administration says that its official statistics at the end of 2000 put the solvency year at 2037 — not 2055. It says that the current figure is — as Mrs. Clinton states — 2041. But instead of it being a 14 year loss — it is actually a four year gain.
FOX News asked the Clinton campaign repeatedly Monday and today to provide the source for that claim that the projection was 2055 when Bill Clinton left office — but so far we have received no response.

Trying to be as objective as possible, she really waffled on Iran and the illegal's driver license issue. I don't see how anyone, even a true believer, could have heard her tonight and not been troubled-- saddened, even.
I hope this supposed scandal pans out and its Hillary or Rudy.

The scary thing about tonight: Chris Dodd sounded the most rational of all of them. Yikes!
Chris Matthews just said that the question of whether we give drivers licenses to illegals will be the big debate in the election. Umm wonder if this was all planned out. Gov. Spitzer of NY put it out there, Tim Russert asks the question tonight and Chris Matthews declared that it will be the Numero uno of the election. Stirring up trouble all together.
I think the whole debate was staged. From the supposedly hard hitting questions by Russert to the phoney bunch of dems dancing around her feet. It is all about making Her Highness the Queen.

It was a lovely evening...Met Club members, invited guests, a few FReepers. The film is great and the crowd was very enthusiastic with lots of questions for Doug afterward. There will be a thread tomorrow about the event.
