Clooney is too much of Beta male; they need a delta or a gamma male for screwed-up production.

“They’re considering George Clooney for the part of GI Joe.”

Well you can’t get more Un-American than that.

The if the target audience is kids, pretty much any movie is a globalist, anti-corporate, enviro, wealth-demonizing, PC-fest these days.

Would that be George without a CLUEney?

We’ll just see if this was a suicidal marketing strategy or not. I’m hoping it was.

The movie should show to empty theaters and the sales of the GI Joint Operational Expletive (deleted) should plumet as well.

I think one reason that American films have become such drivel is that they rely so much on foreign revenue. Subtle humor and storytelling is hard to translate. Explosions, gunfire, sprays of blood and an occasional kick in the crotch work in every language so that's what the production companies now aim for.

This is another case of that - internationalize the American part of the backstory to get more foreign sales.

America's battered international image...

And just WHO says that America's international image is battered?? If anything, it has been the Democrats and the MSM and the neo-communists organizations like moron.org who have worked hard to besmirch America's image. In an of itself, there is NO reason to suggest America's image is battered. It is not. America has done nothing to cause us to have a "battered image" other than to help liberate people who were oppressed under the tyranny of Islam.

Al Gore can be GI Joe - change the acronym to “Global Incineration Joint Operative Eliminator”

This solves the casting problem and this part may get Al his second Oscar too.

This is why I almost never post threads. As soon as I do, real life gets in the way, and makes me leave. I’m curious to see what direction the replies will take. I guess I’ll have to wait and find out later. Have fun kids!

GI Joe has been a valuable franchise for Hasbro. This will destroy it.
