Most of us already know that Mike Huckabee banned smokers from restaurants in Arkansas. What is even more disgusting is how he did it.

SURGEON GENERAL WARNING: Reading this may cause anger, annoyance, high blood pressure and make you physically ill.

Now he wants a national smoking ban. If he is a VP nominee for Rooty, you can bet that he and nurse Judy would make this their algore Holy Grail quest. The millions of smokers who he threw out into the rain and cold only have one recourse....their vote.

He wants to ban smokers from their favorite bars and restaurants, smokers can vote to ban him from the White House.

I had considered holding my nose for Huckabee if he was nominated because of his forceful WOT views, but you can kiss that goodbye. This guy is nothing more than a hillbilly Rudy Giuliani, with all the back-scratching and smoky backroom dealing typical of Northeastern Rockefeller Republicans.

a federal smoking ban is just going to put a lot of people out of work (especially small business) and requires lots of $$$ for enforcement. So it is not just smokers who should be upset.
If you want to reduce smoking, require non-smoking as a prereq for receiving medicaid. Or perhaps an ad campaign. But coercive methods such as bans and taxes just won’t work.
