DES MOINES -- Hutton Street, a modest, racially mixed working-class neighborhood on the city's east side, was unprepared for the miniature army that invaded it one recent Saturday morning when Barack Obama decided to pay a call.
Leading a parade of bodyguards, staffers and about 20 journalists, Obama first knocked on the door of Fortino and Maria Brito. Mexican immigrants, the Britos spoke little English and the conversation was brief. A few houses down, the Democratic presidential candidate had better luck with Jody DeGard, who was "flabbergasted" to see him on her doorstep. Her support tottering between Illinois Sen. Obama and New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, DeGard said she would remember the personal touch come January's caucuses.

I still think they will run together...
100 million between them...
Smiley will just promise ya sunshine and lollipops. Of course, in the end, you just get a great big turd.
Actually, what they will promise and deliver is the hard earned wages of the productive into the greedy, groping hands of the unproductive.
Free money, free medicine, free college for the lumpen, legal or not.
They are a democrat party match made in...well, wherever democrats go when they die.
Black man...Black Widow. What a team!
Get behind me boy.
I wish the Beast would show up on my doorstep......in Texas.
Don’t worry, the MSM will very soon be insisting that he is the only viable option for VP on the ticket.
I hope that we never will find out, and will do my part to ensure that Hitlery doesn't get elected.
If he gets the VP slot it will be a paperweight. Hitlery will call ALL the shots.
Mandingo?
If he's not a 'white dwarf" he must be a...........!
What do they gain by running together? The democrat party nominee has the black vote locked up regardless, so the combination is not synergistic there. A large proportion of hispanics may go that way, too, but again not synergistically. Furthermore, given the natural antipathy between blacks (I know, Obama really isn;t black, but let’s use the argument) and hispanics, I see some movement of hispanics away from that ticket. OTOH, this democrat ticket would galvanize the GOP base like no other. The base and moderates would see a vast socialistic, bankrupting upheaval coming to the USA, and would crawl over broken glass to stop it. Clinton/Obama could be the best thing to happen for the GOP at all levels.
