The purpose of Free Republic is to fight for our freedom, for the constitution, for conservatism and for our traditional American heritage. We recognize that the domestic enemy of freedom is liberalism and big government socialism.
We recognize that our unalienable rights come from God not man or government and, no, they are NOT open to debate or subject to negotiation or compromise.
Sorry, RINOS, but the right to Life is our first unalienable right. This is not just a conservative political "principle" that stubborn right wing fringe nuts refuse to give up. It's an UNALIENABLE right granted to all men by GOD and no man or government can deprive us of same! Not without one hell of a fight!! Compromisers be damned!!

The way I read scripture, and understand history and God’s will, nationalism is, and always has been, part of His plan for humanity.
What does that have to do with the form of government God gave us through the founders of this country, and the principles which have always provided the foundation and framework for its continuation and blessing?
But, that is not to say that God-given rights are not universal. They are. And America still has a calling from God to model these principles to the world. From the very beginning, we were meant to be a shining city on a hill.
Unfortunately, because of a diminuation of the principles in discussion on this thread, that heavenly light has dimmed. For example, tens of millions of children are being slaughtered in the womb in various countries, because of the awful example that has been set for the last 35 years by the people of the United States. “Hey, if the world’s moral exemplar, America, thinks it’s okay, it must be okay, right?”

I would venture a guess that more infants have been murdered since 1973 than in the preceding 200 years in the United States. That can be squarely laid on the doorstep of pro-lifers who refuse to win the battle incrementally. I will reiterate my position, right-to-lifers have done nothing more provide a foundation to institute a basis for an abortion litmus test and have failed to inform the public about the rights of the unborn. It is better to educate than legislate.

I will not retract. Fred Thompson, along with most of this presidential field, thinks federalism means that states get to decide if the God-given right to life may be alienated. That is clear, from his own words, right up to the current day.
As to your piece from James Wilson, even he makes it clear that babes in the womb are protected by the law. I refuse to use his feeble eighteenth century understanding of the process of development of the child in the womb as any sort of guide, just as I refuse to use Aristotle’s fourth century BC understanding of the same matters.
Do you believe that human life begins at conception, and that the child in the womb is a person, fully endowed with the God-given, unalienable right to life, as the Reagan pro-life platform asserts?
Do you believe, along with some of the ancients, that human life only begins at some arbitrary point archaically known as “quickening”? Is this what you are arguing, that they, or Mr. Wilson over two hundred years ago, are somehow correct?
Those that I work with have had an active role in making that a reality in public policy for decades.

Yes, 50 MILLION infants have been murdered. But, "incrementalism" is the way that leftists promote Marxist-socialism. Conservatives ARE NOT incrementalists, we ARE NOT going to settle for "targetted decreases" in abortion rate or whatever you and your RINO ilk propose. This is murder and it's time to end it, and incremental reduction STILL MEANS MILLIONS OF DEAD BABIES.
