The Right to Life is an UNALIENABLE right granted to us by God

Posted on 10/28/2007 3:07:40 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The purpose of Free Republic is to fight for our freedom, for the constitution, for conservatism and for our traditional American heritage. We recognize that the domestic enemy of freedom is liberalism and big government socialism.

We recognize that our unalienable rights come from God not man or government and, no, they are NOT open to debate or subject to negotiation or compromise.

Sorry, RINOS, but the right to Life is our first unalienable right. This is not just a conservative political "principle" that stubborn right wing fringe nuts refuse to give up. It's an UNALIENABLE right granted to all men by GOD and no man or government can deprive us of same! Not without one hell of a fight!! Compromisers be damned!!

“I would have every individual who raises their right hand and swears to defend the Constitution do so: executive branch, legislative branch, judicial branch. At all levels of government.”

And would you overturn Roe, or just ignore it?

Overturn it, of course.

But, you will not do so by arguing against the right to privacy. That right is real, and unalienable, even though it is not enumerated, and even though it can never rightfully supercede the foremost right of all, the right to life. (Read the Ninth Amendment...just because a right is not enumerated doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.)

The only way you will overturn Roe is on the basis of the obvious status of the unborn child as a PERSON.

And, once personhood is established, as even Blackmun admitted, the Fourteenth Amendment will apply, and the lives of the unborn will be protected on every square inch of American territory, as it should be.

“Keep your eyes open for the National Right to Life endorsement, which will be coming shortly. And then we all have to stick together on their choice. That will prevent the pro-life vote from being split several ways.”

Please be careful Freepers. One of my friends was a longtime lobbyist for National Right to Life. NRLC doesn’t represent the unborn or vulnerable. Their mantra is that America isn’t ready to outlaw abortion. All legislation they write and lobby for has exceptions.

Look at what their state chapters do too. In Michigan, they crushed the human life amendment. That’s just one example.

“Overturn it, of course.”

And then logically, given how our government IS run, not how we WANT IT run, what happens next?

"Some around here seem to think that the Founding Fathers did not intend for ANY PART of the Bill of Rights to be binding to the state governments."

Actually, only the first ammendment contains language making it specific to the Fed Gov (for obvious reasons).

Wonderful reminder for everyone to choose life over the culture of death this election. God Bless.

Right to LIFE from conception to natural death!

We need to check out each candidate’s position and HISTORY on the life issue, so we will support the most pro-LIFE candidate.

Vote out the RINOs in the primaries!

Who will explain this carefully, precisely, and forcefully to the face of Giuliani, challenging him directly not only on his treason to his own faith but this fundamental God-given right?

Any president should be a leader who defends the fundamental rights of the American people.

1984: landslide (49 states, 525 electoral votes) Reagan's position: pro-life

I hate to be the wet blanket here, but one of the definitions of "unalienable" is : Incapable of being repudiated or transferred to another. I believe in the death penalty, and I firmly believe that a human being can forfeit his right to life by committing a heinous act.

I'm as anti-abortion as most anybody here, but I do think that a mentally competent adult can be deprived of the right to life under certain circumstances. The difference between us and the Rats is that they cannot distinguish between an innocent life, and a guilty one.

Otherwise the document would hold no more importance than a set of rules for organizing and managing just another men's club.

One would certainly think so.

I already explained that in my post.

This political war to restore the most fundamental principle of our free republic must be fought ferociously on every front, at every level of government.

Never giving one single inch on the subject of this thread.

That is the answer. That is the ONLY way we will win.

And the only way it will happen is for the people to do it themselves.

This, of course, is why we always refer to “innocent human life.”

The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, and their corresponding provisions in the state constitutions, always leave room for those guilty of capital offenses to be charged, tried, and convicted - and for justice to be meted out accordingly.

And, the theory of just war is one that is deeply seated in the history, moral philosophy, and laws of this nation and this civilization.

Here’s a haunting song by Michael Card.

I’m copying your poem after it so that I don’t have to go search for it later.

The Spirit of the Age (by Michael Card)

I thought that I heard crying coming through my door.
Was it Rachel weeping for her sons who were no more?
Could it have been the babies crying for themselves,
Never understanding why they died for someone else?

The voices head of weeping and of wailing,
History speaks of it on every page.
Of innocent and helpless little babies,
Offerings to the spirit of the age.

No way of understanding this sad and painful sign.
Whenever Satan rears his head there comes a tragic time.
If he could crush the cradle, then that would stop the cross.
He knew that once the Light was born his every hope was lost!

Now every age had heard it, the voice that speaks from hell.
“Sacrifice your children and for you it will be well.”
The subtle serpent’s lying, his dark and ruthless rage.
Behold it is revealed to be the spirit of the age!

Soon all the ones who seemed to die for nothing
Will stand beside the Ancient of Days,
With joy we’ll see that Infant from a manger
Come and crush the spirit of the age

.

Poem written by babygene’s God father...

NO BIRTHDAY
I never had a birthday,
A party or a cake;
Never had a chance to play,
or watch the sun awake.
I ne’er beheld the seasons fair—
Saw winter, spring, or fall;
Or felt a brush of summer air,
Or heard a wildbird call.
I never saw a lark in flight,
Beheld a flowering tree;
Or gazed upon the stars at night—
Nor sailed upon the sea.
No chance had I to go to school,
And be with girls and boys,
Go swimming in a shady pool,
Or make a little noise.
And Christmas joys were not for me,
Ne’er would a New Year ring;
I’ll never gather ‘round a tree,
And happy carols sing.
But most, I never knew of love—
To give, or to receive;
I never heard of God above,
Knew nothing to believe.
And even when I died, so young,
I had no funeral;
No one to weep, no saddend song—
I had no burial.
You see, I was aborted—
Torn from my mothers womb;
She really had no time for me,
A bucket was my tomb.
And now I think what might have been’
If I’d a chance to live;
A chance to try, —to sink or swim,
And of myself to give.
So, won’t you set a day aside—
A birthday once a year;
A day for me, who so young died,
Unloved, unwanted here.

Apparently, you have not taken the time to read the 2004 Republican Party Platform, notably the part(s) addressing abortion.................

Is that your opus?

Your comment about RINOs destroyed any influence in the Republican Party and your insistence on one issue being the guide for discourse abdicates any role in any political discussion unless you choose to resurrect the Right to Life Party.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, ....We are not connected to or funded by any political party,

That would be a legitimate option for you to take rather than presume to hector Republicans about whom to select because you consider yourself to be purer.
***Nonsense. This is a pro-life website, always has been. It’s all the RINOs who’ve been invading that try to turn it upside down to try to convince pro-lifers to vote against their beliefs, and yet they’d NEVER consider asking someone else like an islamist who held their beliefs closely to go against their guiding principles. See COGamer’s post below... Let’s look at this through the prism of other movements: Would pro-choice women vote for a politician who announced he wanted to make abortion illegal? Would black voters ever support a politician who wanted to bring back segregation? Would muslims ever support a candidate who was on the record as saying islam was evil?

Well, that is silly. You are not. You are not a Republican and you are not a Democrat even though the Republicans will make room for you at the table and no one in the Democrat Party will ever support your positions.
***Fascinating. My bet is that JimRob IS a republican, and your statement here is proof that republicans are not making room at the table.

Assuming you will continue your slide into mindless mediocrity and political irrelevance there will be no Republican of stature who will dare be associated with you or the Free Republic Forum.
***Duncan Hunter has plenty of stature as a 14 term congressman, so you are wrong here.

Of course you have the right to take this forum in any direction you desire and I will miss reading the pockets of sanity which still exist.
***Then shall we take this to be an opus?

I respect your passion for a cause, but it will fail to make a positive contribution to the selection of the next POTUS.
***I disagree. I think such statements will make an extremely valuable contribution.

I like how Cogamer had to say it, so once again I’m stealing it:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1909436/posts?page=158#152

some people on this board are PUSHING it. They not only expect us to grin and tolerate it, they expect us to help!! They see conservatives being marginalized, and then bash conservatives for not supporting the politicians who are marginalizing them. It’s insane!

Let’s look at this through the prism of other movements: Would pro-choice women vote for a politician who announced he wanted to make abortion illegal? Would black voters ever support a politician who wanted to bring back segregation? Would muslims ever support a candidate who was on the record as saying islam was evil?

Would their friends even TRY to tell them they HAD to vote for these candidates even if they didn’t want to?

No! But conservatives are expected to vote for anyone who has an R after their name, no matter how dangerous to the movement, just to avoid the ire of a bunch of wishy-washy phonies whose only brush with conservatism is the fact that they post to this website.

They need to understand - if they nominate Rudy, THEY are responsible for what follows. THEY know many will refuse to support him. So, turning their flawed logic on its head : If they support Rudy, they must actually want Hillary to win. Indeed - if Hillary changed parties they’d be telling us we had to support HER to stop OBAMA!!!!
