A short time ago, I received a SPAM type email from Senator Larry Craig with his legislative update. The interesting part of it was that the subject line said "Listening to Idahoans".
Since the immigration debate and later the 'wide stance' bathroom controversy, it was clear the Senator Craig no longer listens to Idahoans. With that, I crafted an email that was rather terse and requested he resign as well as his personal issues are giving the Dems a beating stick in which to trash the Repubs. Below, is his response.
October 24, 2007
Mr. Scott Wilhelmi
XXXX X XXXXXXXXXXXX
Meridian, Idaho 83646
Dear Scott:
You were frank in expressing your views, and I appreciated it. In fact, I reviewed every letter and contact from Idahoans -- both letters like yours urging me to resign and letters of support from throughout the State.
As you know, I have decided to serve out my term and complete the initiatives for Idaho that are currently underway in the U.S. Senate. When I returned to Washington, D.C. in September, it became clear that I could still work effectively for the State; many of my Senate colleagues have even urged me to remain in office. Resigning would have cost Idaho the seniority and committee assignments that serve key State priorities.
Let me again apologize to you for the mistake I made in pleading guilty to a crime I did not commit. I deeply regret the cloud that has been cast over Idaho because of my actions. I will do all I can to lift that cloud through continued service to our great State.
In the months ahead, I will be voting and working on your behalf in the U.S. Senate. It may not be possible to regain your trust, but I hope you will still continue to give me your input, so that I can do my best to represent you on the issues facing our State and Nation.
Sincerely,
LARRY E. CRAIG United States Senator

Wow, the guy is delusional.
Gee, don’t feel like the bastard child because your elected officials don’t listen to you. You are not the lone ranger.
I wonder if he typed the response himself or foot tapped it to a secretary in Morse code?
Can you take a little wider stance on this?
Craig thinks voting for cloture on the DREAM Act is "working on our behalf".
Please, don't do us any more favors, senator.

“ben” is clever as well as shameless.......I’m pretty sure bens surname is “dover”.
I gotta leave Idaho...
Senator John Engign is the Chair of the NRSC. He can be reached here.

Todays “Dream Act” shows why I will never donate to the NRSC. I can donate to Republicans that won’t give our country away.

I remember that. Yes, you do.
As much as i would like him to resign, I’m okay with letting him serve out his term and silently retire.
Now, Mister Craig has chosen to lie and try to wait out the storm (a la Clintons). (Confidential to Craig - - - you will be the subject of ridicule on the late night shows from here until you choose to retire.)
This damages the party, and hurts Idahoans, who could appointing a replacement before the current term ends.
Larry Craig. You have no self respect to salvage. None. All you can do is damage your state and (hopefully former) party.
BTW, if a state wants to elect a homosexual to Congress, I have no quibble with that (although no vote from me). It's the deceit; the deceit and the creepy, slimy behavior in a public toilet (ugh).
He's taking a wider stance as he probes the voters.
Craig thought about resigning, but then he got calls from certain special interests (you can imagine). He has not completed his mission to do as much damage as he can, as long as he can.
1.) shameless is to a politician as,
a. toilet paper is to a bathroom stall
b. fox news is to The National Enquirer
c. CNN is to Pravda
d. all of the above
It all depends on whether the secretary was gay or straight. LOL
Wasn’t Brokeback Mountain set in Idaho?
Brokeback Senator says, I can’t quit ya!
