30 years ago, in my freshman biology class, I was required to study and be tested on evolution. I was advised by other Christian students to answer the questions per the theory of evolution so as to show I’d studied and comprehended the topic, while still holding to my own creationist beliefs in my heart. I did so, and went on with my life.

I taught a senior-high Sunday School class in church for several years, and advised the students along similar lines. I told them they are not being tested on what they believe; rather they were being tested on whether they had learned the material. I suppose the couple could have tried that, but when I read in the article that “they could also be required to take teenagers to gay association meetings”, it became apparent that it's "game over" for this couple.
