If these people want to know what happened, then they should run for President. Otherwise, they need to STFU.

Can North Korea be trusted?

Answer: NO

South Korea’s appeasement government is already in full kiss up mode to the North.

I assume our government has an expedient reason for dealing this way on a deal that means very little or nothing.

To keep China happy and on course for dealing with Iran, maybe.

But North Korea is still North Korea after its all said and done.

They are up to dirty dealing and our dealing will allow them to keep their dirty dealing system in business for some time to come.

North Korea will be creating trouble and maybe even more deadly weapons of mass destruction in the future.

that it is critical for every member of Congress to be briefed on this incident...

Even the traitors, fifth columnists and useful idiots?

The only thing I want to know about this is that Syria accidentally blew up one of its major cities trying to figure out what makes a nuke work.
If this info is so sensitive that nobody should know then it should stay that way. The last thing we need is for the press to blab and our enemies to be aware.

>We are among the very few who were briefed, but we have been sworn to secrecy on this matter.

Then why are you talking about this at all?

Nuttier than fruitcakes.

If that were to happen, I would aver that Iran, Al Qaeda and the illegal alien janitors at MoveOn.org would know all the details before the American people did.

North Korea reportedly has agreed to disable its nuclear facilities and has, as it has done many times before, promised to give a full accounting of its nuclear program. The latest deadline is Dec. 31, 2007. Congress has been asked to support this agreement... Then, early last month, Israel conducted an airstrike against a facility in northern Syria that press reports have linked to nuclear programs by North Korea, Iran or other rogue states. If this event proves that Syria acquired nuclear expertise or material from North Korea, Iran or other rogue states, it would constitute a grave threat to international security for which Syria and any other involved parties must be held accountable. Bush administration, however, has thrown an unprecedented veil of secrecy around the Israeli airstrike... Until Congress is fully briefed, it would be imprudent for the administration to move forward with agreements with state proliferators. Congress must be a full partner in this process and, from this point forward, must be kept dutifully and currently informed about this matter.

More power to Israel. It’s good to see they aren’t going to roll over and let their enemies acquire nukes. Take note, ahmadinejad.

...Briefings Peter Hoekstra and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, as senior Republicans on the House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Committees, respectively, were among the mere handful of members of Congress briefed on the Israeli air strike. What they learned obviously dismayed them greatly, as is evident from “What Happened in Syria?” a Wall Street Journal opinion piece published by Hoekstra and Ros-Lehtinen this past Saturday.
