Embattled Democrat Pete Stark has just publicly apologized to "the president and his family."
He took the floor after his fellow Democrats successfully killed a motion to censure him in the wake of his remarks last Thursday asserting that American troops were fighting in Iraq to have their "heads blown off for the president's amusement."
"I want to apologize to my colleagues, many of whom I have offended," Stark began. He then apologized to "the president and his family" and "the troops."
"I hope that with this apology, I return to being as insignificant as I should be," he concluded though a voice cracking with emotion.

A VERY good day indeed. I have spent the past hour reading through DUmmie postings. They run from claiming that Dick Cheney “got to his family” (unlikely) to Nancy Pelosi is now in possesion of his testicles (highly likely). A favorite is also lamenting what a wonderful time the “wingnuts” are going to have with it. But believe me, they ain’t liking it one bit. Loads-o-Fun to read, lemme tellya.
I just reviewed the DU thread and I have good news:
Some of them over there must believe in God, because they keep insisting Bush and Cheney are going to Hell.
All is apparently not lost. It’s instructive to see BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) in action. Some posters show some ability to frame a logical argument, but not many. Not a fact, or a piece of evidence to be found there backing up their assertions.

This jackass should have faced CENSURE at the very very least for his outburst! Amazing congress has no issue censuring a black woman who said they were a bunch of small penised white men, but this guy claims our troops are dying for the Presidents Amusement, and he gets nothing..

Mr. Stark, in your speech from the floor of the House, you used the military in a most vile manner to try to score political points for an entirely unrelated socialist program. To do this any time would be wrong, but to do so while we are at war is unforgivable.
And then you apologize first to your colleagues you have offended? Including the troops at the end only as an afterthought? Not good enough. Try again, jackass.
First off, I want to thank you for serving in our military! It's brave men and women like you who serve to protect me and all Americans. I don't blame you for the way you feel about his apology.
I lost 3 uncles in the Bataan Death March, my dad was wounded, and my other uncle was in the Navy in WW2. Another uncle fought in the Korean War. In WW1 my grandfather was gut shot and gased with Mustard Gas. I think that gives me the right to speak for them all, and that is why I called him a scumbag and will NOT accept his phony apology!
The problem with liberals is that they've told the same lie about the war for so long that they now believe it. I refuse to believe that as many people are opposed to what we're doing in Iraq as the RATS claim. The funny thing is that the liberal media keeps feeding them wrong information about the polls and the number of people who are against it. It's no wonder their approval rating is down to 11%.
