Democrat Pete STARK APOLOGIZES to PRESIDENT and TROOPS
MSNBC ^ | Oct 23, 2007 | Mike Viqueira

Posted on 10/23/2007 9:03:19 AM PDT by rface

Embattled Democrat Pete Stark has just publicly apologized to "the president and his family."

He took the floor after his fellow Democrats successfully killed a motion to censure him in the wake of his remarks last Thursday asserting that American troops were fighting in Iraq to have their "heads blown off for the president's amusement."

"I want to apologize to my colleagues, many of whom I have offended," Stark began. He then apologized to "the president and his family" and "the troops."

"I hope that with this apology, I return to being as insignificant as I should be," he concluded though a voice cracking with emotion.

From the FoxNews article:

After his mea culpa, Stark walked walked off the floor to the Democratic side of the chamber and for at least five minutes stood sobbing while fellow Democrats gathered around him. Reporters close to the Speaker's Lobby were not able to hear why he was crying.

Clinical depression, folks. "They hate me; right now they really hate me!"

The one telling Nancy Pelosi to remove her “disease-ridden, scab-covered ****” from the Speaker’s seat was particulary illustrative and edifying, LOLOLOL!

(Yikes, those people are really, really sick!)

Man, do you ever know how to start a feller’s morning off right! Nothing like a little schadenfreude with my morning coffee. The drama queens over at DU are sort of like a squeaky toy - it’s silly, but you can’t stop squeezing it.

This is on his website still:

STARK CALLS ON BOEHNER, REPUBLICANS TO RETRACT OPPOSITION TO CHILDREN’S HEALTH CARE, APOLOGIZE TO AMERICAN TROOPS AND THEIR FAMILIES

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Pete Stark (D-CA), Chairman of the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, issued the following statement in response to a request by Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH). Boehner and 153 of his Republican colleagues today voted to uphold President Bush’s veto of Congressional legislation that would have provided health care to 10 million children.

“I have nothing but respect for our brave men and women in uniform and wish them the very best,” said Stark. “But I respect neither the Commander-in-Chief who keeps them in harms way nor the chickenhawks in Congress who vote to deny children health care.”

“Our uninsured children in America are fighting cancer, cystic fibrosis and other diseases that take their lives,” continued Stark. “Leader Boehner’s vote against overriding the President’s veto dishonors not only these children and their parents, but also the thousands of courageous men and women who President Bush and Republicans in Congress have kept in harms way. These brave men and women are in Iraq to protect our children – as should Republicans in Congress. Leader Boehner and his Republican colleagues should apologize for their votes and join us to provide health care to 10 million children.”

-30-

I don’t see that his apology either is sincere or means a whole lot.

The DU thread is flagged and blocked by our system as porn. Is this for real?

There's a f-bomb as the title of one of the posts. I didn't bother to read the posts; the titles were enough.

"I hope that with this apology, I return to being as insignificant as I should be," he concluded though a voice cracking with emotion.

Stark, you scumbag, we do not accept your apology. Not when you have hurt our troops when we're at war. You better be glad that our Republican 'leaders' are such cowards or you would be swinging from the gallows.

You're NOT sorry that you said it. What you're sorry about is that you've been under fire since you said it, and this so called apology is just your attempt to take the heat off of you. Now, you're not only insignificant, you're irrelevant.

I love it when the dummies over at DU have a meltdown. LOL Thanks for the link. :o)

What you see on DU and DailyKos is just a reflection of what the democrat party has become, in the context of a coarse, degraded, deviated-down American “society”. Those are the rantings of spoiled, immature children who have contributed little to nothing to this country and who have been brainwashed by the so-called MSM, the leftist-dominated “educational” system, and ultimately by uninvolved former hippie God-less “parents” into entitled harpies. The democrat representatives in the US Congress - with a few exceptions - are an accurate reflection of their constituency. I truly fear for my children, what will become of the USA.

My FRiend...I could not have stated it any better myself...

Comes down to emotions vs. logic

...For the most part, we here on FR have civil disagreements when our conclusions differ...as for the DUmmies...when you throw immaturity on top of the emotion....you have a whining, fit throwing....teenager..

Not to say all the DUmmies fit the same mold, as does not all FReepers....but just perusing the sites makes it clear enough where the majority stand...
