A Maryland family caught in the partisan crossfire over a children's health-care bill in Congress is now stepping back into the divisive debate, advocating this time for state legislation that would expand coverage for adults.
Three weeks ago, after 12-year-old Graeme Frost offered a radio appeal for expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), his family became fodder for conservative bloggers. The Frosts were derided as freeloaders who relied on government insurance for their children while they sent two to private school. Bloggers staked out their Baltimore rowhouse, declaring it too fancy for a family that can't afford to pay for health insurance. Commentator Rush Limbaugh imitated Graeme Frost's voice, damaged in a car accident, and said congressional Democrats were using the boy to "advance a distortion."

Ping.
Nope, no bias in that article.
The title of the article in the print version of the WP reads: “Family Rejoins the Fray, This Time to Aid Uninsured Adults”. I wonder why they have two different titles (?), lol.
So I would guess that Bonnie wants us to cover her children up to the age of 25 so she and her husband can play at working for a living. Sweet. Hey Bonnie can you Dems cover my mortgage payment, I feel a real strong need to go fishing for a couple of years. Listen up dem puppies - GROW UP!!!
bump
Mrs. Frost now wants free health coverage for her and her husband. Read the article carefully.
Nice try, Lisa, but no cigar.
I now live in North Carolina, but spent most of my life in Baltimore, went to one private school there, and sent one of my children to Jemicy (highly expensive, for dyslexic children only). The Frosts have greater income than $45,000 and they are not telling the truth about their living expenses.
I went to college with Gary Trudeau. He was an honest cartoonist then. (I still have a couple he did on our mutual “friend,” John Kerry.) But no one is “attacking a 12-year-old.” The son is not lying, the parents are. And the Democrats in choosing the Frosts as a poster family, did not vette them competently.
On some subjects, the Post and its reporters are interested in whether principal sources are lying. But not here. Why not?

My brother had a little girl with Werner-Hoffman, a form of Muscular Dystrophy. He worked his behind off while her mom cared for her 24/7 until she died at the age of 10. But they did it themselves under my brother’s health insurance plan.
Bump that! It's pathetic reasoning to say that a middle class family can't afford $25.00 a week for family health care coverage but can afford a home like these people have! Come on...a paper route would do it! This is an attempt to move socialism/communism forward, period.
I wouldn’t put my child out there to be the eye of a political storm. Anyone can predict the outcome. This family is covered and will be covered; expansion of SCHIP merely guarantees that the club is not exclusely for the poor or even children.
The obfuscation surrounding this bill is pathetic. When will opponents get the truth out instead of retreating when proponents defend it with emotionalism?
Liberals pioneered “Free Love”, which they believe should result in “Free Kids” if it results in pregnancy.
I noticed that Vinnie DeMarco, ex gun grabber executive (Handgun Control, Inc?) has crawled out from under a rock to lend his voice to this attempt to fleece the taxpayers.
I fault the parents for letting their child try to emotionally manipulate the public by asking why Bush doesn’t want to insure poor kids.
This is the same kind of dishonest manipulation that Herr Olbermann did by asking the Frosts to bring in the crash photos of their kids.
I really hate this stuff.
BTW, Trudeau is really slimy. I’ve been watching him for years. ‘Pod.
My six cents:
Donate the kid to serve as a human shield, then get all outraged when he gets shot.
Something about moochers, they drape themselves in false virtue better than all the rest.
Get a job, Bonnie, and support your gentleman carpenter without me.
That’s a great letter. Let me know what happens. but I won’t be holding my breath.
The dem push is on for socialized medicine, and it looks like at least a portion of the media is in full support.
Hey Bonnie, nothing in life is free. Either you want quality health care or you want the kind where you will die before you are seen by a doctor; and mark my words; if America follows the latter; there will be no place to go; like the Canadians and others coming here to America for their health care.
You don’t think very much, do you?
You’re right, all anyone has to do is look at the Canadian system to see how socialized medicine just doesn’t work. I’m suspecting that the Dem plan is really just a means to an end. IMHO, they don’t really care about health care or quality of care, but elections.
