(WJZ) BALTIMORE WJZ.COM has learned a fuel truck has been stolen from a gas station in South Baltimore.
Officials say that the truck operator was refilling the gas tubes at a gas station on 3100 block of Vera Street, when a black male, wearing a blue jump suit, got into the driver seat and took off.
Police say the driver tried to get back in the truck, but the suspect pointed a gun at the driver and told him to get out of the truck.
The truck is described as a 1997 Peterbilt with dark wood. On one side it says "Baltimore Tank Lines." There is also a silver trailer attached to the truck.
The truck's Maryland license plate is 436-F45 and the tanker has Maine license plate 126-8185.
There may be some front end damage to the truck, because the suspect struck a fence on his way out.
The truck was last seen heading toward Interstate 95.
The driver was not injured.
Why “Activism?” Is this an issue for one of the Chapters?
Black Muslim or crack user?
Black market gasoline supplier most likely.
Hmmmm...
Yes Chapter members who commute in Maryland and Pa.
Doubtful, the driver would have been killed first or at the attempt to get back into the truck.
I can’t imagine trying to fence that much gasoline.
Yikes! Not good!
Unless a person has a hiding place nearby, how could you expect to get away with this?
Looks like the price of crude has driven someone over the edge. Probably got a big storage tank buried behind the barn.
This is about the 7th tanker truck stolen in the Washington DC /Maryland Area in 3 years.
One could certainly call this "news".
Do you expect them to organize a protest, or something?
Just pull into any inner-city neighborhood in Baltimore and philly, and start pumping for $2 a gallon.
Anything is possible.
Heading north on I-95 or heading toward I-95?
I don’t think so...with the price of gas now this is bound to happen. There were stories of the mob being involved with some fuel truck hijackings back during the glory days of Carter.....
Just passing the word along, some Freepers are truckers too.
