What's So Funny? Crawford Calls Stark 'Court Jester'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Did I miss the joke? Was there something funny about what Pete Stark (D-Calif.) said on the floor of the House, claiming that President Bush sends our soldiers to Iraq to get their heads blown off for his amusement? Craig Crawford can apparently see some humor in it.

Crawford appeared on today's "Morning Joe," and while the MSNBC political analyst certainly didn't approve Stark's statement, he did try to softpedal it, suggesting it wasn't much more than another outburst from a congressional scamp.

Pete Stark (D-Calif.) Suprise, suprise - another idiot from California with a bigger mouth than brain. If Stark is that delusional he shouldn’t be in the Senate - but so shouldn’t a lot of liberal scum.

Breaking the law is just such a rascally thing to do.

Just for a little local color, a Catholic blog, The Cafeteria Is Closed, has a piece on Stark:

Stark Raving Mad

I escaped having this guy as a Congressman by some 25 miles. Oakland, one of the most criminal cities, has been run by Democrats forever, which explains the crime rate. The Congressman for that area is Pete Stark (the district goes East until Pleasanton) Here his latest quote, statement made in the House:

“I yield myself two minutes. Madam speaker, I, first of all, I’m just amazed that they can’t figure out — the Republicans are worried that they can’t pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where are you going to get that money? Are you going to tell us lies like you’re telling us today? Is that how you’re going to fund the war? You don’t have money to fund the war on children. But you’re going to spend it to blow up innocent people if he can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President’s amusement.”

He's also referred to Republicans in Congress as "whores", "c*cks*ckers" and "fruitcakes".

Well, the mayor of Oakland is leftist Ron Dellums. A prior mayor is leftist Jerry Brown. All this time of Democrat rule, they've decried "root causes", while (mostly) black people keep murdering and dying. But woe to the black person who criticizes any of it, like for example Dr. Louis Sullivan, whom Stark called a "disgrace to his race".

Story has it that a traveller once remarked to an old Vermont farmer, "Well, it takes all kinds . . . ." The farmer spat, "No, it don't! We just got all kinds!" ;-)

This makes me want to puke. It reminds me of ol’ Sandy Berger and how he was so “sloppy and lazy” as opposed to a calculating crook.

NPR this morning tried to turn this in to a “he said , she said” issue by only playing a piece of Stark’s diatribe. They clipped after “I yield myself two minutes. Madam speaker, I, first of all, I’m just amazed that they can’t figure out — the Republicans are worried that they can’t pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq...”, thus eliminating the moonbat talking points. Information is power...

This is not surprising. The ratmedia does volunteer PR work for the terrorists. Crawford was just rooting his side on.
