Pelosi Wavering on Armenian Resolution Email Share October 16, 2007 5:39 PM

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos Reports: According to Congressional and Bush administration sources, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now unlikely to bring a resolution which would label the deaths of Armenians in a conflict more than 90 years ago as "genocide".

Pelosi, as recently as Sunday on "This Week", has repeatedly said she would call the controversial but nonbinding resolution for a vote despite the opposition of the Bush administration and warnings that it could damage U.S. relations with Turkey.

President Bush called Speaker Pelosi on Monday night and asked her to pull the bill. But Congressional sources say that Pelosi is telling House members that she will not bring the bill to the floor without majority support.

At least seven House members have withdrawn as co-sponsors of the bill and several more are expected to follow. Key Pelosi ally Rep. John Murtha, D-Penn., is also lobbying against a vote.

Key House members continue to canvass members but don't expect a vote this year

Bet she is peeing in her pants now that even Murtha has abandoned her and the WSJ’s Editorial demonstrated how idiotic this resolution is in Clinton’s words and of all idiots, Lantos in 2000. She is trying to insure the defeat of Our Military’s mission, clear and simple, a true POS!

Does anyone have a list of the Republican supporters of this piece of Trash, designed to destroy our relationship with Our key ally Turkey and threaten Our mission and Military in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lets bombard them in their idiocy as well!

People are starting to realize that Nancy intends to use this issue as a passive-aggressive way to end of limit the war by taking Turkey out of the logistics path.

“a true POS!”

As concise, and accurate, a description of Nancy Pelosi as anyone could ask for.

Women, being more emotional, often act before rational thought about the consequences.....

Most of us aren't as reckless with others people's lives. Emotions are fine until you stop using your brain. Then you become a worthless liberal hag.

>>>Most of us aren't as reckless with others people's lives. Emotions are fine until you stop using your brain.<<<

Pelosi obviously has no concept of the real and very volatile emotions on which her "symbolism over substance" resolution would play on.

Perhaps her buddy Bashar Assad might be pleased with such a gesture, he has his problems with the Kurds and a Turkish/Kurd war might be in his interests, but Pelosi probably has no clue as to the real consequences - except to hurt our efforts in Iraq.

I think some enterprising reporter or blogger ought to run with the possibility that Pelosi's little resolution scheme was something she and Assad cooked up during her visit to Damascus. She is that gullible!!
