Air America Host Randi Rhodes Mugged

Air America Radio host Randi Rhodes was mugged near her Manhattan apartment Sunday night, losing several teeth in a brutal attack that has knocked her off the air while she recuperates, fellow host Jon Elliott announced on his show early Tuesday morning.
"It is with sadness that tonight I inform you that my Air America colleague Randi Rhodes was assaulted last night while walking her dog near her New York City home," Elliott told his listeners this morning on Air America.
The attack took place near the corner of 39th Street and Park Avenue, Elliot said.
Because Rhodes was wearing a jogging suit and had neither a purse nor jewelry, Elliott speculated that "this does not appear to me to be a standard grab the money and run mugging."
"Is this an attempt by the right wing hate machine to silence one of our own?" he asked on the air. "Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we're winning? Are they trying to silence intimidate us?"
Rhodes has been with Air America Radio since it launched in 2004, becoming a mainstay of the national liberal radio network. Her show airs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern weekdays. Lionel filled in for her show Monday afternoon, but no announcement was made of the reason.
An Air America representative confirmed Tuesday morning that Rhodes was mugged. Calls have been made to Rhodes and the New York City police department's press office, and as more details become available they'll be reported here.
Consider the possibility that she was talking on her cell phone and walked into a lamp post.
Maybe she’ll look into self-defense and push for right-to-carry laws.
It sounds as though she is lucky to alive. God bless her, and help her get through the mental anguish of trying to come to grips with the fact that other humans did this to her.
...For the kooks, if it were some right-wing, hate group, like a Rush coffee club or something, we would hear about it non stop. My guess is that the people who did it wouldn’t know left from right. This isn’t like the union thugs that beat up peacefully protesting Republicans.

Leftists will argue that it must have been some right wing zealot trying to silence the left. But, of course, that’s absolutely ridiculous — what right winger would waste his time trying to silence an idiot mumbling to no one but herself.
I do wonder if suffering a mugging will turn her into a conservative. It’s something of a test of her intelligence — if she remains a leftist, we’ll know for certain that she’s retarded.

Hopefully she’ll come to her senses now and understand that liberalism is a mental disorder. Im sure the person who mugged her voted for or would of voted for a liberal and its the liberals and RINOs that allow these people to stay on the street. Moreover they will even praise them and say it is unfair that they be charged with a crime - can you say Jena 6?
how can you differentiate between a hate crime and a political crime?
Note also, the mugger might have hated her for having nothing of value to rob. As in “Doncha just hate it when you mug somebody that has nothing on them of value?”
What the heck does that mean? "Are they trying to silence intimidate us?" I know what it means - it means her fellow host actually said "silence" and the author thought "intimidate" would sound better and no one proof-read this garbage.
Don't like to hear of anyone getting mugged, but does the imbecile actually believe anyone feels the need to silence her? Heck, I don't know anyone who even knows anyone who listens to the show anyway.
