It is serendipidous that we are discussing Episode IV because I saw it this weekend on TV. Dish Network offered a free weekend for some of the movie channels and one of them aired Episode IV (the “upgraded” version). I enjoyed it even though the new effects bugged me from time to time.

If Lucas wanted to restore the prints to remove scratches or restore the colour, then I would receive that effort warmly. It is the futzing with the scenes and effects that does not settle well with me. When I have kids, I want them to see the films the way they were when I saw them for the first time.

Well, it ain’t an outer space movie, but I think the greatest sci-fi movie ever made is Blade Runner.

Ice Pirates is great, followed by Starcrash. Deep Red would also be top three except it takes place on earth.

Ohhh just one? I don’t think I can do it...

“Alien”....or one from Star Wars or even from Star Trek! LOL!

I love “2001 A Space Odyssey” and.....”Armageddon”

An of course ‘Blade Runner” is a big favorite BUT as a SCIFI movie (not outer space at all there).
