The Talk Shows
Sunday, October 14th, 2007
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Reps. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., and John Boehner, R-Ohio.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Comedian Bill Cosby, and Dr. Alvin Poussaint, co-authors of the book "Come on, People."
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., presidential candidate.
THIS WEEK (ABC): House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz; Erik Prince, founder of Blackwater USA; Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.; former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski.
I’ve been doing this thread for 8 years, it’s amazing how the various Sunday hosts have not changed; they’re all still blatantly biased. Through your diligence and perseverance, you’ve stuck with it and continue to point out their lies, half-truths, and innuendos!
From the wonderful graphics shop of FReeper Snugs! (Never mind the dfate, it applies to October 7th as well!):
Wallace is sad that he can't get Al Gore. Looks like McCain has few more nails he need to put on his primary coffin before ending his bid.
Meanwhile, this is today's Washington Post editorial !
'It's looking more and more as though those in and outside of Congress who last month were assailing Gen. Petraeus'scredibility and insisting that there was no letup in Iraq's bloodshed were -- to put it simply -- wrong'.
Steffy or Wallace challenge the dems?
Caller on cspan from Connecticutt a few minutes ago
I thought she was imitating a Rush illustration of absurdity by being absurd, but she apparently believed that what she said made sense.
“Good morning, guys.[to Steve Scully and James Barnes of the National Journal] You know, I am so sick of this election talk, I have the perfect ticket that will solve all of our problems.
Al Gore - to take his rightful place
Ron Reagan, jr - I have seen him on a lot of talk shows, and he is an intellectual charismatic.
We can get Bush and Cheney out of the White House, get rid of the delegates, and the Electoral College.
All we have to do is March on Washington and demand...
and on and on...”
Oops, please ignore my post regarding individual winners. *Red face*
Looks like we have some chaos...
Who were going to be this week’s winners?
Poor dems - I mean “journalists”. Rush will make money out of air (besides the audible). Now dems & journos awed @ what Rush is doing with their letter to Clear channel. You don’t mess with Texas & Rush.
Well, jm, if you really want to know, you can go here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1907728/posts?page=275#275
Sorry for the misunderstanding, all.
Sen. Lindsey Graham,Thanks! I feel much better.RRINO-S.C.
Looks like they still believe the 2000 election was "stolen" from the mighty Algore. Don't they ever give up and face reality?
Where have you seen comments about the auction? I wonder if anyone has started a side bet on how high the final bid will be?
It is Day-2 of the Ramadan Eid holiday here in Saudi. I look forward to another captivating Sunday Morning thread.
PoC
Meet the Press....2.7/8 3,614,000 This Week.........2.0/6 2,712,000 Face the Nation...1.9/5 2,427,000 Fox News Sunday...1.0/3 1,216,000All in all, the Sunday talk shows seem to be on an upward trend except for Fox News Sunday.
I have F&F on this morning and I have to say that if I still had children in the house, I would turn it off. They discuss ANS sex tapes (Mommy, what is a sex tape?), and how women probably think cowboys would be better in bed than business men.
Disgusting.
That cspan caller was so long off her meds that she proposed a Gore/Reagan combo as being a “unity” ticket.
Last I heard, from Rush late Friday afternoon, the bid was over $4,000.
And it’s going on through to next Friday, right?
My bet....$25,000K.
Yet another great Rush idea. Heh. By touting this auction he makes their stupid actions look....well “stupid” comes to mind.
It should probably be a fixture of the Sunday Talk Show thread that we include the Wikipedia backgrounds for some of the hosts of these shows. For instance: Tim Russert’s is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Russert and Freepers should be reminded that he was a staffer for Former Governor Mario Cuomo (D) and Former Senator of NY Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D). No bias there...
And here’s the link for George Stephanopolous: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Stephanopolous No bias there... Actually, this entry really has some good juicy reminders: of Stephie’s role in trying to quash the investigation of Madison Guaranty along with the work of Roger Altman (one of Hillary’s top economic advisors).
To be fair and balanced, here’s the entries for Chris Wallace: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Wallace_%28journalist%29
And I don’t care about the rest.
Lord, please put it on the heart of Senator Graham to act with discretion while visiting restrooms during his various travels. Amen.
