Mom' and 'Dad' banished by California
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | October 13, 2007

"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.

"We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in California," said Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute.

"With this decision, Gov. Schwarzenegger has told parents that their values are irrelevant. Many parents will have no choice but to pull their children out of the public schools that have now become sexualized indoctrination centers."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, which worked to defeat the plans. "This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms.

"Shame on Schwarzenegger and the Democrat politicians for ensuring that every California school becomes a homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination center," he said.

I’d be willing to bet that if a poll was taken on what actual members of the CTA and PTA think of this bill, you’d find that there’s not as much support for it as people have been led to believe. I, as a forced member of CTA, was not even aware of this bill, and never received any correspondence on it.

Sorry for the abrupt answer. It’s just one of those days.

I was not interpreting the law. I'll let the lawyers do that. I'm not one.

I was not stating support for the law. (In fact, I said it was "nauseating.")

My point was that the media was once again editorializing and using blatant sensationalism.

If Californians don't like this (and I can't imagine any decent ones do), they need to fight it.

It really ticks me off when people come into this forum and beat up on California and Californians. Don't they know that Free Republic is based in California?

Rather like visiting someone's home and telling them you don't like their drapes.

I’ve lived in CA and while i agree that most are loony there, I’d say people should PREFER to live there. Weather is great, much to see, etc. It’s not your fault that most are loons there.
I just wanted to say hey there and greet you properly, I know you have a hard row to hoe, as we say down here. We’re on your side, or should be!

"Well said. I have no doubt the leftists think they are doing right here. They see us (conservatives) as judgmental, discriminatory, evil-doers, and they believe they are creating a better world. Unfortunately, they presently have the upper hand in our media, schools, and government, and they aren’t the slightest bit hesitant to use their power to try and reshape America in their image."

And, what you said was depressing, probably true and also well said!!!

Sigh. Believe whatever you want to believe. If firmly believe Duncan Hunter would love to get rid of those programs but it’s just not possible in today’s political climate. He advocates the only real thing available with reforms and no increases on spending (which adjusted for inflation is a real decrease in spending) and balancing the budget. I voted for Alan Keyes in the primaries in 2000 and would indeed vote for him in 2008 main race if he were to get the Republican nomination but Duncan Hunter is my #1. Tancredo would be #2, and Ron Paul would be #3. Keyes would be 4th at best probably tied with Thompson.

A) I don't owe anybody an apology for my opinion.

B) The words "I'm offended" don't affect me even a little bit. I've heard them far to often to care who I offend. Usually the ones who get offended are looking for a reason to be offended anyways.

C) California bashing? It needs to be bashed!

Maybe I went a bit over the top, but not by much.

You folks seem to think that this is then end of things. After this, that's all there will ever be of this political correctness. Well, guess again. It gets MUCH worse from here.

If I read the law right, it's now a hate crime in the state of calif to not allow this kind of "boys" to use the girls locker room and vice versa.

Why are there so many liberals in Hollywood, the press, academia and the like? Because it's institutional discrimination against the conservative political philosophy and with a govt like CA has that's only going to get MUCH worse.

The day will come soon when it will be a hate crime to employ any person who espouses a conservative viewpoint. It's almost that point for those with a religious viewpoint.

And let's not forget that the Govt of CA controls the tax base second only to the US government in the US.

That means that they will eventually (and soon) begin offering tax incentives to companies to hire liberal workers and not hire conservatives and conservative philosophy will die even quicker in that state. They'll hide it under a different guise of course, but it'll still work out that way.

Laugh at me if you want. be offended if it pleases you. I made sure that my next generation was raised in Iowa, the HeartandOfAmerica. It's not my next generations that are going to be done away with.

This is a moral blunder of the highest magnitude. It shows children that morality doesn't count a whit!

So, based on your suggestion that we all just “cut-and-run” from California and give the state away to those who would turn it into a third world country, I’d guess you must be a Run Paul supporter? I won’t run from a fight. Be my guest and run away and hide in the Midwest if you like. Just remember, you may run and hide, now, but your state will face these issues one day too. Where will you go when that happens? Will you run and hide then? Or, will you be willing to stand and fight to your last breath to try and stop this tide? I choose to stand and fight now. We could use help, not condemnation from you.

Here's what you can do:

221. This article shall not apply to an educational institution that is controlled by a religious organization if the application would not be consistent with the religious tenets of that organization.

Congressman, what's the effect of changing "which" to "that" in the text of the law? Why did they strike "which" throughout and change it to "that"?

You’re right: Politically and socially, west of the Cascades is one state; east of the Cascades is an entirely different state poltically and socially. But west of the Cascades, unfortunately, calls the shots due to demographics.

“I voted for Alan Keyes in the primaries in 2000 and would indeed vote for him in 2008 main race”

Keyes has always been my first choice. He is one of the very few political candidates who embraces the truth and follows through when he makes a pledge. The guy has total integrity which is sorely lacking from most running for office.

"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools...

So if a child is curious enough to ask a classmate "what genders are your parental units?" and the other child is foolish enough to answer is that a hate crime? What will the punishment be?

I don’t know but I know if I lived there I would move right back to NJ where it might be corrupt but its not filled with such loonie lawmakers etc. I feel sorry the people out there & mainly the children. I too wonder what will happen if the people refuse these moronic laws...I know I sure would.

I wouldn't make any bets on what your lawmakers in NJ will do.

If I had kids in CA schools after this I would make them wear T-shirts that said "My Mom and Dad are husband and wife." I would force them to expel my kids and try to impose whatever other punitive actions they have in mind. Time to lawyer up.
