Pepsi, Coke rivalry becomes physical

Fri Oct 12, 9:46 PM ET

The long-standing rivalry between Coke and Pepsi took a physical turn Friday when a Pepsi deliveryman allegedly punched his Coke counterpart in the face at a western Pennsylvania Wal-Mart, state police said.

The two deliverymen were "apparently bickering back and forth" while unloading their wares at the Indiana County store, police said. When the Coke deliveryman left the store, his counterpart allegedly punched him in the face three times, breaking his nose and giving him a black eye, police said.

No charges have been filed, but police characterized the incident as a misdemeanor simple assault.

Pocari Sweat. Man I used to drink that stuff when I was in Japan years ago. It was the best thing for a hangover.

"Pepsi is for p*ssys. It tastes like sh*t."

Only a Coke drinker would know what sh*t tastes like.

Not sure if this is good or bad in the overall scheme of things, but due to the large Mexican population in our area, the local grocery stores stock a large number of brands and items that are of Mexican origin. I can buy Coke made with real sugar (imported from Mexico) by the bottle at our local grocery stores (if I really had to drink Coke, which thank God I don’t).

Yeah but diet coke is better than diet pepsi.

No way.

Diet Pepsi is far superior to Diet Coke. Diet Coke is weak and lacks fizz

The democrats will have to do something against Big Soda, like pass a law against carbonation.

I have been in the soft drink business for more than 25 years. See screen name

RC Cola has always beaten both giant cola's in a blind taste test every time.

To bad the RC Cola company was bought buy Victor Posner many years ago. He was the original corporate raider. He sucked the company dry, sold off the brands piecemeal and killed the distributor network.

Cadbury Schweeps now owes the brand and will never do anything with it because the RC Cola brand pretty much no longer exists except in a few markets. Diet Rite Cola is the only reason Cadbury doesn't drop the RC Cola brand altogether.

As far as Pepsi verses Coke conflagration, I've dealt with all levels of personnel from route drivers, salesman, marketing to Presidents.

BY FAR the COKE personnel are some of the biggest asshats in the industry. When I was a young buck competing against Coke, I used to ask them: "Was it painful when they inserted the micro chip into your brain" because they thought Coca Cola were the only brand worthy to be on the market shelves.

More than once I was moments away from cold cocking some of them because of the way they disrespected me personally and professionally

Pepsi personnel on the other hand pretty much were professional and very competitive but understood at the end of the day, we were competitors not enemies.

I worked in several markets and found this to be true across the board for both companies.

I have been offered several opportunities to work for Coke, but would never work for such ass holes

I sold almost every brand in the market except for Coke or Pepsi. The brands include: Canada Dry, 7-up, RC Cola, Nehi, Crush, A&W, Dad's, Welches, Sunkist, Perrier, Poland Springs, Sobe, Gatorade, Snapple, Hires, Arizona, Mistic, Zepherhills, Big Red, Dr. Pepper, and probably a two dozen more nobody will remember nor can I

Yeah but diet coke is better than diet pepsi.

No way. I'm diabetic and have tried just about every diet drink I come across, diet Coke is so bad, I'll drink water or ice tea in a restaurant that doesn't serve diet Pepsi.

Very true, Coke in the old bottle was excellent, of course if you drink one today, you might need a trip to the hospital since they haven't made it that way in about 15 years.

Drink up :)

*******

I’m the opposite. I like Coke over Pepsi, but diet Pepsi over diet Coke.***

And how does one loose weight by drinking them? You have to chase down a dog and kiss his a$$ just to get the tast out of your mouth.

I was in walmart for the first time about a week ago. I bought some real coke made with sugar. Far superior taste!

***RC Cola has always beaten both giant cola’s in a blind taste test every time. ***

Maybe Coke needs to change it’s product and call it NEW COKE!

Oh wait. They did that. Has any one seen a bottle of it in years?
