Pepsi, Coke rivalry becomes physical

Fri Oct 12, 9:46 PM ET

The long-standing rivalry between Coke and Pepsi took a physical turn Friday when a Pepsi deliveryman allegedly punched his Coke counterpart in the face at a western Pennsylvania Wal-Mart, state police said.

The two deliverymen were "apparently bickering back and forth" while unloading their wares at the Indiana County store, police said. When the Coke deliveryman left the store, his counterpart allegedly punched him in the face three times, breaking his nose and giving him a black eye, police said.

No charges have been filed, but police characterized the incident as a misdemeanor simple assault.

"...that stuff is foul! I can’t believe people drink it!"

Well, it is a unique taste. I think it's delicious and nothing is as thirst quenching as an ice cold Moxie.

I think it's one of those tastes that must be acquired early. If one doesn't start drinking Moxie by age 6, it probably isn't going to happen.

Over here, they sell Coca-Cola in glass bottles and with sugar. Since the labeling is primarily in Spanish (there is a sticker with English nutritional information), guessing it is a product of NAFTA.

They also sell the canned and plastic bottled Coca-Cola with high fructose corn syrup (which is by far the common one).

Only an RC (Royal Crown) cola ia appropriate with a Moonpie.

And Coke only tastes good with a handful of peanuts in the bottle.

Who cares. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is bad for you anyway.

I’ll take RC cola over both of them.

This is why I stopped drinking Pepsi.

Oh, yeah, I remember now. This was all over the MSM.

Yeah but diet coke is better than diet pepsi.
*******

I’m the opposite. I like Coke over Pepsi, but diet Pepsi over diet Coke.

Of course, I’ll take a beer over all of them.

“I’ll take RC cola over both of them.”

Many years before 9-11, one of the Coke or Pepsi distributors in Chicago started the rumor that RC was owned by Arabs. It did cause problems with RC sales. It’s still on the shelves, but there’s no advertising for RC at all and I don’t know anybody who drinks it today.

My wife used to down an 8-pack of RC 16-ouncers in a weekend.

You beat me to it. Ever since Indra Nooyi made those remarks I have been an RC fan. Michael Jackson’s history with Pepsi had absolutely nothing to do with it. ;)
