Dr. Victor Davis Hanson is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. He is the author, most recently, of A War Like No Other. How the Athenians and Spartans Fought the Peloponnesian War.

This is especially telling:

Soldiers spoke of confiscated computers of al Qaeda with the worst sort of pornography on them, or stories by Iraqis of known deviants, thugs, and criminals now masquerading as religious jihadists. Here we prove incompetent in not publicizing the nature of hard-core jihadists, not just their hypocrisy and brutality, but their criminality. No doubt many of the 100,000 felons Saddam released on the eve of the war ended up working for al Qaeda, a fact we blithely forget. How we can be doing so much in so many areas, but almost nothing to bring to the world's attention the abject fraud of al Qaedism? Here we are reminded of anti-Western moralist Bin Laden's kids watching video games, or the sheik himself buying a 15-year old bride on the eve of 9/11, or Dr. Zawahiri supervising the forced sodomy (to video cameras) of young teenage male captives. We are at war not just with radical Islam, but with the dregs of humanity, a sort of updated SS group of psychopaths.

Why has this information not been released? It paints a perfect picture of the al Qaeda thugs - and we have physical proof per the confiscated computers and videos.

Incredibly useful and informative post, SkyPilot. One West Point professor told me so many of his former students were in Iraq, he simply asked for deployment to be among them.

How wonderful are these people. They see tremendous challenges ahead. They think about how to address them. We need a president who respects them and understands what they are all about. That is not Hillary Clinton.

How right you are.

The interesting thing about this post is that you actually have to read it. Those of you here obviously have - and through the time invested have gathered a tremendous understanding.

All of this information is available to ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, etc. Either they are unable to process it (I am saying in a kind way they are too stupid) or they don't care.

FOX News does a good job, but it cannot deliver this level of detail out to the public.

They would much rather be enthralled with JLo's posterior diameter.

However, there are so many intelligent and wonderful Americans out there who should hear this.

Thank you.

Since you are a Christian, I have to ask you this.

Do you think the rebirth of the Biblical Babylon predicted in Revelation will actually be modern Iraq?

VDH brainfood. Like pretty much everything he writes, it should be illegal not to read. Thanks.

My heart bursts with pride and gratitude to read his descriptions of the best and brightest who are serving our nation in Iraq.

The article cites John Kerry’s remark about how a lack of education would lead young people to Iraq. After reading about all the MA and PhD recipients serving in Iraq I am compelled to wonder where Mr. Kerry got his doctorate. What? You say he doesn’t have one? Why, I’m astonished. And yet he criticizes the intellectual level of those serving in Iraq. How interesting. I wonder if the very cultured Mr. Kerry knows how to spell “arrogance.”

Dr. Victor Davis Hanson has 100 times the credibility of the entire cadre of MSM “journalists” who are so desperate to see us lose in Iraq. Kudos to Dr. Victor Davis Hanson, and shame to the MSM Quislings.

How the Arab world-or indeed our own Left-will handle scenes of former enemy and hard-core Sunni nationalists working side-by-side with Americans I don't quite know, but it should be interesting...

I can tell you now..the hard core left won't like it. They are not really about peace, they are about power and emphasizing divisions among everyone in the world to keep or attain that power.

Why? Because most of those in the MSM and our so-called political leadership whose responsibility it is to report this information are themselves part of the dregs of humanity...

Thanks for posting the latest musings of our favorite military historian and Central Valley of California “neighbor”.

My husband has been following him for several years.
