Isaiah Thomas: Guilt by Genitalia.

Slowly but self-righteously America continues its descent into becoming a land debilitated by political correctness. Today there are more parameters for what constitutes acceptable speech than ever before while the trendy troika of race, class, and sex trump truth on a daily basis. Isms, more than knowledge, fuel our university curriculums and public policy decisions.

One of PC’s most essential precepts is that women are morally, vocationally, and intellectually superior to men. The spheres of government have internalized this outlook and their belief in women being an oppressed group colors numerous laws. The bias against men in criminal and civil matters has effectively made female privilege as much a part of our nation as baseball, unfettered immigration, and the media’s perpetual frenzy over the comings and goings of celebrities.

In the hopes of “empowering” the fair sex , the state has melded half of the population into sacred cows; mammals now bestowed with rights and advantages wholly unearned (and of which men can only dream). As evidenced by the lynching of the Duke lacrosse players, the word of a woman can even effectively reverse presumption in criminal cases.

Ms. Sanders’s position “earned” her $260,000 in salary last year. This figure…ah, is not the norm. The 2006 median annual household income was $48,201, so here, oppressed is to plaintiff as non-controversial is to George W. Bush. There are no words, phrases, names, or finger salutations for which 99 percent of the male population would not endure in exchange for such a bounty.

99% of the 99% would put up with such insults for a fraction of that compensation. If only we could get it.

A big part of the problem is jury pools consist of people with room temperature IQs and brain damage. When my pool questionair arrived in the mail it asked if I had a physical or mental condition which would impede my ability to serve on a jury. I checked "yes." The blank which asked me to elaborate was filled in simply as "too intelligent."

“99% of the 99% would put up with such insults for a fraction of that compensation.”

Which makes you a whore.

As an employer, and a member of SHRM, I can’t believe what I read from transcript excerpts from not just Isiah Thomas - who I never thought had to worry about MENSA knocking on his door in any circumstance - but also the owner of the team and the HR manager.

Like it or not, there are very very clear standards of behavior in the workplace. The comments and actions were not only illegal, they were exceedingly dumb.

Add to it the arrogance of the attempted defense, and the testimony by the defendents in this case...and I just shake my head.

This team is really, REALLY, screwed up in its front office, folks. And I’m hardly a ‘prude’ as anyone thats read my posts will readily acknowlege.

It was dumb business, if nothing else.

Isaiah Thomas: Guilt by Genitalia

Uh no. Isiah is guilty because he's a creep and a pig. His genitalia has zero to do with it.

He was a creep as a kid in HS. A creep in college. And a creep in the NBA. In Chicago speak Isiah is 'a snake'. And that creepy smile of his is the smile of a sociopath.

He played many years with the Pistons. They knew him better than anyone. How long did he last in their front office after his playing days were over?

Not long.

You can take a thug off the court and put a suit on him, but that does not make him civilized and worthy of a job in a legitimate business.

Bingo.

This article is nothing more than a men's group jumping on the professional victim bandwagon. Far from being "guilt by genitalia," they are excusing Isiah's acts solely because of his genitalia.

It's pathetic.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has realized this. Compare his smile with Michael Jordan's. 8^)

"He played many years with the Pistons. They knew him better than anyone."

Here in Indiana we had him for a coach for a couple of years and that was a couple too many. He is a total jerk and I have no problem believing the allegations against him - they are totally in character.

As much as I think most sexual harassment cases are bogus Isaiah and the whole Knicks organization crossed the line. They were a fine and shining example of why there are sexual harassment laws, and it doesn’t matter how much money she made, nobody should have to put up with that kind of crap.
