Rudy Giuliani fostered an important ecumenical moment last week, albeit one that he may not have welcomed, as Protestant and Catholic leaders alike questioned whether his presidential aspirations were invalidated by his pro-abortion beliefs. Archbishop Raymond Burke of St. Louis announced that Giuliani should not present himself for Communion in Burkes see, thereby also signaling to Catholic voters that they should reconsider their support of him.
James Dobson, president of the influential evangelical group, Focus on the Family, reported that 50 pro-family leaders agreed almost unanimously [that]
if neither of the two major political parties nominates an individual who pledges himself or herself to the sanctity of human life, we will join others in voting for a minor-party candidate. Since these leaders already know Hilarys position life begins if the mother says it begins what they really decided was to abandon the Republican Party, if Rudy wins the nomination.

The answer is hell no!
Can Hillary appeal to the gun owners?
Rudy can’t appeal to gun owners, either.
Rudy doesn’t appeal to anti-amnesty voters either.
The truth of the matter is that Rudy has a hard time appealing to his own children which is very sad in and of itself.
Best thing Rudy can do.
1. Abortion: There is a chance that Rudy will appoint to the Supreme Court someone like Roberts, Alito, Thomas or Scalia. Even Ronald Reagan gave us Sandra Day O’Conner, and the not so conservative George Bush Sr. gave us Clarence Thomas.
2.. The gun control case could likely be put to bed if the USSC delivers a reasonable opinion on the case that was appealed from D.C.
3. Rudy has a long history of being a law and order guy. He could do no worse enforcing boarder laws than either Reagan or George W. Bush.
4. He’s the one guy who has proved that he can run a government well in a liberal environment. Mitt Romney got elected in Mass., but got very little accomplished.
5. Rudy at least seems to be able to handle a political fight. The current administration has utterly failed at the politics required to get stuff done. It doesn’t matter how conservative a candidate is if he can’t get conservative legislation passed.

(CNN) Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito had a private meeting with the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday as he sought to reassure lawmakers that he would respect legal precedent on abortion rights and put his personal views aside.

WASHINGTON Supreme Court nominee John Roberts said Tuesday that the landmark 1973 ruling legalizing abortion was settled as a precedent of the court as he was immediately pressed to address the divisive issue on the second day of his confirmation hearings.

Gag me with a fork. BS is all we hear around here anymore.
There is a chance just isn’t good enough.
No.
A chance is all we have running. I don’t trust any of them. I trusted Reagan and we got O’Conner and Kennedy. Bush Sr. gave us Souter. Who will Mitt or McCane give us? Who knows. I do know that Clinton will give us another Ginsburg, so If its Rudy v. Hillary I go all out for Rudy: All Out.
As Fred Thompson’s Vice Presidential nominee? Sure. At the top of the ticket? Probably not.
I suspect that the only reason any conservatives support Rudy is because he can be tough in a debate and because he makes the right noises about fighting terrorism. This gives the image that he can win, which I still doubt.
What will happen "if Rudy gets the nomination" and THEN it is made public that he is a bisexual? Or, maybe something worse.
Do you worry at all about things like that?
People like you are the problem. Instead of demanding better, you will settle for the worst without a fight.
No fight, you get what you ask for.
Frankly , I will not vote for a man who has said Ruth Bader Ginsberg is a strict Constitutionalist.
Once you have sold yourself out, you no longer can complain.
I myself, am disgusted with the party who will settle for a liberal, a Democrat. You will get what you ask for. May be slower than Hillary, but it will still happen. This party is dead and I am am quite sick of worrying myself about it.
You darned right NO!
I have never understood how Christians could vote for ANYBODY that is for “choice” or for abortion. You can’t do both people. Rudy is NOT a conservative. So why would conservatives vote for him? It’s certainly not because he “believes” in OUR causes.
Give me a Hunter/Tancredo ticket or give me nothin’!
How/why in the hell would the national review even ask such a stupid question?
