Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."
"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.
"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."
Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

Personally, I like Mr. Deutsch, (even though he has a rather wild party boy reputation in NY and is expecting his first child out of wedlock) but his statement that Coulters words were antisemitic sounds a bit disingenuous to me.

Sorry to inform you of this - I am speaking as a practicing Jew - you cannot be both - you are either a Jew or a Christian, not both. If you believe Jesus was divine, you cease being Jewish. Period. Nor can you be a Moslem and a Christian.
Agreed. His “shock” at Ann’s remarks were disingenuous to be sure. If he wants to find antisemitsm he should scrape the surface of his own demonrat party.

Uh... no, Ann is not particulary good at spreading the “Good News”.... that’s not her line of business, nor her intent.
And.. I’m not really sure who you’re talking about when you keep referring to “you people”? Who’s fighting like children? I’m not. I’m not angry over this at all, and I don’t see why anyone else would be? Unless... they just want to be angry over something.
Ann was simply honestly answering a hypothetical (and silly) question. For the record, I think the world would probably be better off if everyone was a practicing Jew.. or even if everyone was a Sunni muslim. But.. we’re not. So, the point should be.. what do we do about the others. As Christians and Jews, we’ve learned to be tolerant of each other. A significant number of radical Islamist, don’t see the world that way. They want to KILL the rest of us, just because we don’t believe the way they do.
Arguments like this are just silly.. and, counter-productive to the larger battle that we all face.

If you don't believe your own faith is "superior", then why do you continue to practice it? Don't we all, at some level, think our own is the best?
She is NOT STANDING up for Christianity - she is standing up for being more outrageous.
The Gospels were not written by Jesus, so who knows what he really believed. These are TWO SEPARATE RELIGIONS. feel free to debate it with MY RABBI WHO WILL SET YOU STRAIGHT.

In a broad sense, Ann agreed to a statement that actually summarizes the Book of Hebrews in the New Testament. It was Paul’s position in that Book.
Can we please run Ann for the Republican nomination for POTUS?
We do not believe in the Trinity - it goes against monotheism if you are Jewish. Case closed - two SEPARATE RELIGIONS. Ann is no theologian.
