Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."
"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.
"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."
Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

I heard all of Savage’s rant tonight.... He was COMPLETELY off-base and making a big deal out of nothing. Why?? I haven’t figured out.
Ann was answering a hypothetical: Would the world be better if EVERYONE were a Christian. Well... YES! As a Christian, I whole-heartedly agree.
Does that mean, Ann and I want to go KILL everyone who is not a Christian?? NO! And, THAT is what Savage was suggesting with his commentary. Frankly, I think he owes Ann an apology. I’ve never heard Savage so ridiculously off-target.
As Christians, our mission is to spread the “Good News” to all the world. The difference between us and Islamist is: We don’t KILL people who choose to believe something else.

The procedure was not pain-free, there was some discomfort, I prayed Psalms before the procedure.
It was not as painful as I expected. I pray the results are negative.
I know you are worried, but I have had several biopsies (mostly of the throat), and they are not as uncomfortable as dental work. Of course the possible comndition is something to be concerned about, but the thing to do is be prepared to fight intensively, if it becomes necessary. You are one of our great fighting Freepers, and I know you will beat this.
The God we both love is a loving and just God, and will hold and protect you. He does not give us a burden we can’t bear.
Technically, that is a doctrinal debate for which christians are not in agreement. For the sake of this discussion, I would note that even if you are correct, it is only because God DECIDED to accept the decision of people as the final arbitor. In the end, God still decides.
More theologically, Jesus made it clear that while the message gets to everybody, only those whose ears are open can hear and understand, which is a necessary requisite to “deciding”. And it is God who opens the ears. So it could be argued that our “choice” is real, but based on a knowledge that God only gives to those who he has chosen. And having given that knowledge, the choice is so obvious that no-one so blessed would choose to reject the message.
In the end, as I said, it’s a doctrinal question, and as I’ve said many a time, being a Christian is much more important than the question of how it happened. Under any doctrine, those who desire to accept Christ’s sacrifice are accepted into God’s family. The debate over how you reach that point is more academic for those who do.
A great analogy of the difference in the doctrines is that those who believe in choice picture sinners as drowning in a sea of sin, with God above reaching down his hand. Those who choose will reach up and grab his hand.
Those who do not believe in choice picture sinners as having drowned in a sea of sin, sitting dead and cold at the bottom of the ocean. Then God reaches down, grabs them out of the ocean, and brings them up breathing new life into them.

I do affirm the truth of the 5 Books of Moses, AKA the Torah. Nothing in the Torah requires or even urges the conversion of non-Jews to Judaism. Our job - why we were chosen - is to obey G-d's laws and to set an example (to be "a light unto the nations"). Under Jewish law, non-Jews absolutely DO have a place in "the world to come" (Heaven) if they simply obey the 7 Noahide Laws. These are laws set forth by G-d for Noah and his descendants to follow. Until Abraham, that's all there was. Upon Abraham's arrival on the scene, his descendants had additional laws to follow. Nothing in the Noahide laws would prevent a person of any religion that worshipped one G-d (THE one and only G-d) from Heaven.
Would the world be better of if everyone was Jewish? I can't answer that, only G-d can. But since He doesn't require it, I would presume that it isn't part of His plan.
As far as Jews not proselytizing, it has nothing to do with being an oppressed minority. Though I'm far from an expert, my understanding is that it has everything to do with making sure that everyone who claims to be a Jew is really a Jew, heart & soul. We Jews had a very difficult time because of the "mixed multitude" that came out of Egypt with us - these were non-Jews, some Egyptian, some of other nationalities, who were very opportunistic and adopted Jewish customs and laws (for a time) in order to leave Egypt. Afterward, they were a constant source of strife, and a constant drain on the faith of the Jews. To this day, a proper conversion only occurs after the Rabbi supervising it has discouraged the person 3 separate times. It is part of a millenia-long effort to keep Jews as Jews, to avoid outside influences.

You know, there was a plan American was thinking about. You might not have been thinking about it, but there were Americans thinking. It was what we are going to do, About this war coming. There was hope, to see Israel, and Russia, and India, playing key strategic roles in this war. But Russia isn’t working out because Putin is a jack ass. There was hope that some of those old commies would get on board with this war against the Islamists. But you know how commies are. So it doesn’t look like it’s going to work out.
And, in the end, there’s a good chance India isn’t going to, either.
But there’s a chance. There’s still a chance. And what we don’t need is some small fringe idiots of a Christian persuasion messing this all up. What we DON’T need is Jews and Christians fighting with each other, and pissing off the Hindus, and messing things up in the name of idiocy and “perfection”. Because if things get messed up, the Islamists are going to start putting a lot of Christians in the gas chambers. And that is what we are trying to stop. Whether we are Christian or not. We want to stop it.

You know what ... this is even getting worse then what I was worried about. I’m hearing the Jews in our country are really getting upset. You can make fun of Savage all you want. But it’s a big ass mistake. That dumb broad better apologize to the Jews. This isn’t the right time in history to do this sort of stupid thing from someone who is suppose to be a spokesperson for Americanism. That dumb broad better apologize to the Jews. Because if she doesn’t, she isn’t an American. She’s a traitor.
Ann is a solid friend to Israel, whatever her theological beliefs. I have no idea where Danny Douche stands on issues important to the Jewish State, but if he’s anything like most liberal Democrats, he’d sell her up the river in a heartbeat. Perhaps he believes I’ll get into heaven and Ann doesn’t, but I’d find out a whole lot sooner on his watch. I’m in no rush.
If Ann’s faith is so strong, why does she consort and date the likes of Bill Maher and Andrew Stein? Two of the most morally repugnant, totally corrupt individuals in America.
