Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."
"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.
"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."
Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

I’m a smart conservative and I’d be MORE than willing to come to her defense....except for one thing: no “defense” is necessary. Ann said nothing requiring defense; she merely stated fairly orthodox christian doctrine.
If her forthrightness and rapier wit makes timid conservatives scared, they can always go watch Tucker Carlson, CNN House Conservative.
Or better yet, lap up the droolings of Joe “I’m a Republican but I disagree with everything conservatives say” Scarborough.
VIVA COULTER!!!

...and may God bless you and yours for saying so.
The point is that Anne's remarks were rather short and easily tied directly to wellknown elements in Scripture that define the fundamentals of Christianity.
Ergo, it would take a theologian to pervert them into something more palatable to folks who are not Christian ~ those folks are usually referred to as being rather "mealy mouthed" ~ particularly when they give those old, dired up, either/or, shades of gray sermons.
Actually pre Christian and pre rabbinic Jewish folk did proselytize. The proselytizing stopped when they were faced with the loss of their heads from Rome.
To tell the truh I really don't understand what there is to be offended about. I understand that modern Jewish proselytizing is pretty much anathema but Christians are called by Christ to spread the gospel.
Though I don't understand why Jewish folk don't want to spread the good word of the God of Abraham, it certainly doesn't offend me.
Perhaps I have a mutated offense allele.
Which has absolutely nothing to do with this topic.
I would appreciate the courtesy of a ping when you reference my post.
Alouette, prayers for your diagnosis & treatments if necessary..
Life is never easy or simple it seems. Thanks for letting us know.
I’m not sure that Ann phrased it exactly as I would have done, but Christians believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah spoken of by the Jewish prophets, and that He represents the fullfilment of the Old Testament Covenantal promise.
Jews don’t believe this.
So, why is it wrong for Ann to say what she and other Christians believe, and for Jews to say what they believe?
Is declaring that this country would be a better place if the Jews would just convert to Christianity just someone professing her faith? Basically, that's the same as saying that Judaism is inferior to Christianity. And I know too many devout Christians who vehemently disagree with that for me to accept that as merely "professing her faith."

Reminds me of the time Michael Weiner interviewed Jerry Falwell and was ASTOUNDED to learn that Falwell thought you needed to believe in Jesus to get into heaven! Seriously...he just couldn't believe it!
He should have stuck with writing herbal nutruition books.

Carlson is now with Scarborough on MSNMBC, Glen Beck is now CNN house conservative, and is a good one.
Good luck with the biopsy. I had one a few years ago, and it was fortunately negative.

Ann is right! And wrong at the same time.
PS: If I am you I will change my nickname because "muawiyah bin Soufian" was the first Ommyad muslim Caliphate.

It is required that Christians should work to 'teach all nations' or speak Gods' Story (Gospel), to spread the 'Good News' (evangelize). It is something all Christians are obligated to do. Ideally there would be no one on earth who has not been offered the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ!
Those who are offended by this are anti-Christian bigots, and these bigots are killing hundreds of Christians around the world every month.
She could say the same thing about agnostics (like me). I wouldn’t be offended; those are her beliefs.
