Duncan Hunter is no Democrap!
Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA), the senior Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, recently agreed to cosponsor the Armenian Genocide Resolution, H.Res.106, making him the sixteenth member of the influential panel to add his name to this human rights measure.
THAT’S THE WAY IT CAME.
That was Colin Powell's doing. Turkey supported us in 1991 because James Baker visited Ankara 3 times in the space of a month, and Bush 41 called the Turkish PM several times. In 2003, Powell refused to visit Ankara a single time, Bush did not call them either, and Powell demanded Turkey permit entry into Iraq, and even threatened to cancel a scheduled $30 billion U.S. loan guarantee to Turkey. My college friend who works in Istanbul faxed me cartoons from that time showing the Turkish PM sitting in George W. Bush's lap holding a bag of money. Colin Powell is an IDIOT who wrecked the entire diplomatic situation. This angle of the Iraq War has been entirely ignored by the media.
The Democrats really don’t care about the obvious genocide. What they want to do is to make it much more difficult to supply our troops in Iraq. They will stop at nothing to achieve their ends.
I don't believe they didn't know about it as well.
It seems only fair if we name all this other stuff genocide we finally recognize 10’s of thousands of Armenian Christians died at the hands of Islamofacists...the world needs to know this is not a new phenomenom...its been ongoing for 1400 years and George Bush did not start it!
I agree.
But apparently, the US expects a higher standard of Germany than of Turkey.
Apparently so. I don't understand Bush's stand on this unless he cut a gentleman's agreement with turkey after Turkish soldiers entered Norther Iraq.
I never liked them in NATO or getting all that military tech.
I always thought they were biding their time.
We don’t need allies like that.
I regard everything done by the House, led by that clown Pelosi, with suspicion. How is condemning Turkey for something that happened nearly 100 years ago in our best interests today? Turkey could be an ally in the war on terror so we condemn them? Typical.
This is an historical significant, watershed action, which speaks volumes about the controling influences within todays rat party. But on the very small scale of the specific issue at hand it is also morally unasailable.
Adolph Hitler, to Wehrmacht commanders on August 22, 1939, a week before invading Poland.
If only we had adults in Washington (outside of the WH).
What a waste of energy!

Since the US did criticize at the time, though not loudly, and since it's an issue we had only tangental exposure to at the time, it probably would have been better if this didn't come up formally. But it has, and it was genocide, so I don't see how anyone can vote against it, nor how GWB can fail to sign it if it gets that far.
Islam CANNOT and WILL NOT co-exist with other religions. Therefore, ..... !#$! SSZ
Agreed.
Although some on here don’t think their lives are worth upsetting the Turks.
I understand. That is the problem here. As I wrote to someone on FR, that read it wrong, F the Arab World (their reaction is always negative regardless of what we do).
We care to much about what the A/W thinks when it comes to fighting muslims in the country. So much so that we prosecute our own troops, for following orders, to appease the A/W.
I don’t think it will end until either one side or the other is destroyed.
