Amazing things are happening. To think he gets away with this without challenge is very troubling. I really wish Hatch and Bennett had the guts to challenge him openly. And where is the church leadership?

Methodists. Mormons. What’s the difference?

Reid even professed to being a card carrying temple goer. Hard to believe.

The BYU college Republicans basically said they didn’t protest Reid because they feel it is disrespectful to protest our leaders when they are given a forum to speak. One Republican said the student body should be embarrassed by the way the Democrats treated Dick Cheney and that the Republicans had more respect for our leaders than that.

We have a country that needs to do something about health care. Global warming is here. We have a president who doesn't know how to pronounce the words."

This from the man who cannot pronounce the word "judiciary" or pretty much any word with more than three syllables for that matter.

Oh, and Harry Reid is a liar. I don't believe that is a value of the Mormon church.

What a petty, disgusting little man he is.

Trouble is that BYU, while religiously affiliated with a conservative church, is not really that different from other colleges and universities when you examine the faculty (most are liberals) and the malleable, naive student body, most of whom are afraid to challenge profs in classes.

Bloated, corrupt, valueless Republicans are driving idealistic youth from the party. They need something to believe in.

We need another Reagan to cast a positive Republican vision for the future that youth can sink their teeth into.

What a condescending little prick, that Reid of a man.
I am not LDS but I am offended by the way he talked to BYU.
How embarrassing for LDS that this man touts himself so highly.
One question, where is the outrage from the leadership of LDS against this man?
Or the rank and file LDS?

“I really wish Hatch and Bennett had the guts to challenge him openly.”

Have you ever wondered why Hatch has been so low keyed and inoffensive his whole career? Good Manners? Perhaps. Butt, I have wondered about this many times. Butt, as a leading conservative senator from one of the most conservate states, he has always been “very quiet” and “very reluctant” about taking on the liberals. In fact, at times it appears that senator Teddy owns him.
Anyway, something to mull over, especially for those conservatives from Utah I would think...

The Nevada senator attacked President Bush and evangelical Christians while saying members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints need to worry less about abortion and gay marriage and more about health care, global warming, education and jobs.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
ROTFLOLOLOLOL

As a member of the Mormon Church, I would like to publicly aplogize for the existence of Harry Reid.

Reid is an apostate, in my opinion. I am shocked that BYU would let him anywhere near the place. That he disrespected President Ezra Taft Benson is something that I cannot abide. He has certainly revealed that he is an enemy of truth.

IMHO you can’t be a Mormon and a Democrat; the two are mutually exclusive. Harry needs to be ex-communicated. He also should resign from the Senate, after his shameful attack on Rush.

From the article: The Nevada senator attacked President Bush and evangelical Christians...Reid first spent 40 minutes delivering a well-received and sometimes tender BYU forum speech in the Marriott Center to 4,091 students, faculty, staff and visitors...Reid also told reporters the Republican Party has been driven by evangelical Christians for 20 years. "They are the most anti-Christian people I can imagine, the people from the Christian far right."

Ah, one of the real reasons BYU was giving Reid such a platform: Just the latest LDS leader to publicly ridicule and attack Evangelical Christians, a tradition started by Joseph Smith.

Reid: "I am a Democrat because I am a Mormon, not in spite of it," he said.

I guess that says it all, eh?

Oh, and what was the warm BYU response to Reid by 4,000 of its faculty and students?

At the end of his speech, Reid earned a standing ovation from a small percentage of the crowd and applause from the rest. "I was impressed with him," said Stacie Borneman, a 22-year-old political science major from Farmington who said she is a Republican. "I thought he did a good job expressing his feelings and our responsibility to serve in our communities. It's good to hear differing opinions and to be respectful, even if you don't agree politically, and he gave both sides of the issues he raised."

"They have focused on just a few issues, flag-burning, gay marriage, abortion," Reid said. "The country has gone beyond that to other issues. We have a country that needs to do something about health care.

Yeah...

Get OUT of it!

Phooey on morals; let's tackle worldly issues.

I didn't know there were 4,091 people in Searchlight, NV, much less that many that would make the trip to Utah.
