Mitt would check with the Attys first.

Remember when his dad George R. when running for prez in ‘68 said the Generals brainwashed him and he was against the Viet nam war.

They arn’t a military friendly family

I saw Reagan several times in person when Gov and Prez.
When He was running for Gov. I asked him to sign one of his campaign papers, he did and I still have it.

Well, if she’s gone to bed, it’s too late to tell her that Duncan is a great Republican as well, and I would proudly vote for him to be President. And I understand, she probably wouldn’t like a Giuliani, but I just want her to know that Peter is STILL going to let this man into paradise despite it all. I salute Giuliani. I vote for Romney in the California primary. You know, if this is sort all about who’s more “saintly”, I suppose Romney is more “saintly” than Giuliani. Myself, I suppose there has been a time when my breath is loaded with wine, weak from debauchery. Come back from Hell if you will. Pirate. Evil. Evil conservative, am I. Proud, though. Votin’ for Romney. California for Romney. And New York, it’s probably going to Giuliani. Duncan is a fine man. I like him. Let the games begin.

Love to see a debate between you and eeevil conservative some day. I think it would be highly instructive as well as entertaining.

I think she would say something along the lines of when do we stop sacrificing principals to political pragmatism?

Me, I am just too sickened by the thought of the Clinton crime family appointing the next 3 SC Justices to deal with it all right now.

I cannot stand watching the Republicans self destruct because no candidate turns them on enough. So I will bid all "good night". When I start getting this cynical about everything it is a sign I have been on line FAR too long today.

Good meeting you.

One doesn’t mess with a Pickup-man!
I just watched the replay tonite...Fred kicked some major-league bu** out there. Calm-cool-collected, stuck to his principles...the ones he’s always had, unlike the regular politicians.

I met President Reagan at a fund raiser.

We shook hands and he asked me to support him in the coming election.

I told him yes and he gave me a large campaign button with his picture wearing a cowboy hat.

I still have that old button and will pass it on to my grand children.

Great man and will only get greater as history plays out.

“You call the ones who would be left real choices? I don’t know — just asking. Maybe they aren’t.”

With your comment above, I have to wonder who would be in what position if the MSM had just reported facts rather than all the spin that they call news. I would think that the results of polls would be a lot different than they are today. I think the money would be in different hands today also.

Here’s my take on the debate:

Winner(s): Tie between Romney and Guiliani.
Second Place Tie: McCain and Thompson.
Third Place Tie: Huckabee and Hunter.
The rest in order: Tancredo, Brownback, Paul.

I’m getting real tired of all of the “looks” comments. Thompson has always had a bit of a hangdog look, but I find it endearing. He’s like a comfortable shoe to slip into. As to Romney’s “too good looks”, geez, what’s he supposed to do, put on a halloween mask? Romney is incredibly bright and worked hard to get his degrees. He’s run a private sector company, so knows what it’s like to be a businessman, rescued the Olympics and took its deficit and turned it into a profit. He is an excellent example of a capitalist. He as a Republican managed to win office as Governor in one of the most liberal states in the U.S. and still managed to make some improvements to it. He has stayed married to his wife for years, has five sons who love him and have all turned out extremely well. He didn’t dump his wife when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and loves her to this day. And for this some jerks on this website call him slick and a used car salesman. Would that these jerks could do so well in life. I detect a certain degree of envy on their part.

Look for better reasons to attack our candidates other than their personal appearance. Both men, Thompson and Romney, are good men and each is pleasant looking in their own way, but one shouldn’t hold their looks against them, be it too ugly or too good looking. What a silly concept.

Howdy! Did you watch the entire debate? I didn’t; got about may 1/3rd of it. I agree with Fred. Lined up there, they look like seals waiting to be thrown a fish!

It seems that none of the Fred supporters I have seen can admit a single flaw in the man.

Oh, I'm sure he has some flaws; just not any that would preclude him being a good President.;o)

Ok, how long did it take you to get two degrees?

I have two degrees. It took me awhile. Had babies, stuff. How long? If you want to dump on someone, be prepared to make good. How long? Two degrees. Jest askin'.

I agree, but how do we get Rudy, Fred, Mitt and McCain out of there?
Apparently, we have the debates at a black college, or at the value-voters forum.

Fred could walk in looking like John Travolta and talking like a Baptist preacher and the haters would say he looked bad and sounded shaky.

Can't speak for haters. I like Fred; but I have doubts about all the candidates, including Fred. His performance tonight didn't allay my concerns about him (namely his lack of preparation/organization/fund raising and whether he has the health/stamina for a tough race against Hillary)

Mitt looks as greasy and slick as a gylcerin suppository.

Well, if he ends up the Republican nominee, I hope he goes through Hillary like fat through a goose.

This is the case that the Bush Administration will have lawyers at the Supreme court sitting beside this monster, pleading for him to escape a Texas court ordered execution simply because Mexico says so.

Could you clarify whose opinion it is that President Bush's administration will go soft on a rapist/murderer just because he is illegal from Mexico?

Mitt’s ok...my distrust of him is basically that I see him as strictly managerial, economy guy.

That's my problem with him. He's been in a world where your competitors aren't out to cut your head off, stone your daughter to death, rape your wife, and disembowel your children.

I think his lack of military service has not given him that gut understanding that Bush had on 9/11 "I'm a loving guy but I have a job to do." and "crushing response, inflict pain"

This is my concern about the guy who doesn't understand the dark side of life where your hair gets mussed and your fingernails are crusted with blood, guts and dirt.

But right now he is looking like the most likely bet in a field where everyone has a major drawback.
