Be glad to answer any other left wing blog points about my information. Unlike the media I'd just like to know the whole story and get it right. Oh, and Sen Harry Ried, I'm not part of a Senate Republican scheme, but then maybe you could tell me who MD4BUSH is.

...and that they paid a small amount for the house only means that they have that much more equity and therefore wealth which they could access with a second mortgage or by downsizing their lives a bit in order to take care of priorities.

Great initial research, and also nice work swatting away the leftist disinformation effort that followed.

A Pajama Patrol badge well earned.

Perhaps someone else has already raised this point, but if the grandparents are paying something near the total tuition of this school that’s far above the $10,000 per person, per year, allowable gift under US tax law. It’s been a while since I dealt with gifting, and the criteria may have changed, but is this payment of tuition not a gift? If it is, then who is claiming the amount above $10,000 per person as income...the kids? Certainly, in reality, such a donation of tuition is actually a gift to the patents, not the children, because the parents are the people responsible for making the decision to put their kids in this school. Are the parents claiming this donation of tuition on their taxable income? Can someone clarify the tax implications of this sort of gift? certainly my information could be out of date.

Keep in mind that while this argument is ongoing the government is working to take medical coverage away from retired US soldiers who served full careers in the defense of this nation.

Thank you very, very much icwhatudo.

This could be the catalyst of the democratic/liberal party implosion.

Maybe those more familiar on why people set up LLC's can tell us what creative things can be done with finances this way.

The number one reason is to protect personal assets from liability associated with business activities. E.g. if his wiid-workign business makes a large piece of furniture for a client, and the client's kids are rough-housing and cause it to fall over on one of them resulting in severe injury, they will be contractually limited to suing the LLC -- they may be able to wipe out the LLC, but will not be able to get to the family's personal assets.

Personally, I'm not arguing with you that these people are desperately poor and deserve to have the taxpayers pick up the tab for their medical bills. But I think it's important to check your facts carefully before making accusations, because your whole argument loses credibility when chunks of it can quickly be proven false. It's very easy for political opponents to distract people from the main focus of your argument, when you give them piles of ammo with which to assail your credibility.
