DEFINITION: Swiftboating; Speaking TRUTH in the face of Democrat Propoganda
The Idiots at Kos have a huge thread running on the exposure of the "SCHIP" family by Free Republic members, that Rush mentioned today, and it's utterly HILARIOUS!
They are freaking out that we would DARE to question thier "Facts"... "UPDATE #2 Whiskeyfire has a very informative blog on this too (hat tip nyseer courtesy of Atrios)
As the day goes on, bigger and bigger smear merchants are picking this up (including The Weekly Standard).
All are (of course) listing Free Republic as the mother source. This limits any culpability and fact checking of their own.
UPDATE #3 Michelle Malkin has this story up on her site, but she's done the extra step of going to Halsey Frost's business and quizzing his tenant on his political ideology. She also drove by the Frost home... ostensibly to see how much it was worth.
There are many points being brought up, amongst them whether it's right to bring children and anecdotes to a political debate.
I don't think that this is the issue. The issue is that the right wing, led by The Free Republic and picked up by Mark Steyn and Michelle Malkin are attacking the people that come out against their propaganda.
The Frosts aren't running for office; they are trying to live their lives after a horrible accident left their children with permanent disabilities.
Knowing the types of people that are involved in this Swift Boating, it's even more terrifying to know that this families personal records and address are going the rounds courtesy of Free Republic. If anything else happens to this family, I hope God will have mercy on their souls.
And then, we have the "lousy Freeper Troll"...
"the family likely did not purchase much auto insurance if they didn't purchase health insurance. They may have had minimum liability coverage which won't cover a week of ICU and a handful of surgeries. PIP insurance is usually a small amount - is 'no-fault' an unlimited coverage?"
How dare he insert things like FACTS into the discussion???
Just some insanity for you to peruse...
I thought it was a one car accident.
Did they come after you? Did they call?
That's the American and humane spirit! (0 / 0) ...we better be DAMN SURE they are really poor and struggling.
Yes, they better not have a "high net worth value" before our society decides to assist them with anything for their kids healthcare bills. Bills that by my estimates most likely would be in the hundreds and hundreds of thousands and that might also result in the bankruptcy of even the most average middle class family that possessed health insurance coverage. Yup, the family should have been forced to suffer more (despite the fact the kids are lucky to be alive and will have lifelong issues to deal with from the TBI's they sustained).
Yes, these people should be forced to suffer and struggle some more....they should have had to sell their small family business and been forced to give up the breadwinner's income (and he should go work at McWal-mart) ...because that is what a humane society insists upon before they provide them with healthcare assistance. Yup and they should have been forced to sell and move out of their house (that had most likely risen in value subtantially like most homes over the past decade did due to the housing bubble)and sold their granite counter tops and been forced to moved into a Section 8 funded apartment because gawd forbid they better most certainly be struggling before those kids and this family were aided by our American society in any way shape or form. That's the spirit....the American way.
I'm sorry if I sound angry and sarcastic here, (because I am after reading this post)....but perhaps you just don't fully understand just what this family went through. I have no personal knowledge of this family, but worked in a TBI rehab unit for many years....and it is one of those traumatic medical issues that can just devastate and rip apart people and their families in many many ways and not always just financially.

I so agree (0 / 0) I went and read the comments on a few blogs, including the Free Republic comments. This family was not a good choice and its very upsetting because there ARE good choices of families that the taxpayers want to help who have benefited from this program.
Anyone capable of a minimal amount of critical analysis would be wary that this is a family that might have other income that they are not required to report on their income taxes. Whether they have that income or not doesn't matter once the reader thinks, "HMMMM. Mr. Frost's parents and/or Mrs. Frost's parents could be paying that tuition and could be giving each member of the family up to $12,000 a year as a gift and as far as we can tell, it would not affect SCHIP eligibility."

don’t worry about it-—shoulda put it in quotes
“SOME republicans say that this fine entrepreneur deserves no health insurance because he went into business for himself!”
These people really do live in a dream world. This Republican says that this fine entrepreneur needs to pay for his own insurance if he wants it. How hard is that concept? If you want/need something, you pay for it. You don’t decide that you “deserve” for others to pay for it. Why is that exceedingly simple concept so difficult for moonbats to grasp?
Projection, a classic Lin tactic. And they have no idea just how ridiculous they appear.
Redone:
“Rumblelizard apparently has a hard time figureing out what the truth and the facts are...
They have a hard time understanding that one is responsible for their own way in life through hard work etc...not by entitlement...they skip over that simple fact pretty quickly.
He looks like EVERY guy on PBS.
This family is not needy by any measure. They have the money to provide for their own insurance but choose to make others pay for it. If it helps them expand their socialist control they have no problem embracing their deceit.

Somebody ought to send this to Rush??

Thanks for the website, I just looked up the house I am buying and I’m getting a good deal.
See http://michellemalkin.com/2007/10/08/graeme-frost-and-the-perils-of-democrat-poster-child-abuse/
I was looking at the picture of the family in their kitchen. Did I read that the dad is a cabinet maker?
