My Bullsh!t-o-meter is pegging. Written by somebody who hasn't got a third-grade-education on how the US system of government works.
Gates is in battle with Cheney over war policy? Who's Bush, chopped liver?

I’ve said for quite some time that we will not attack Iran, that we’ll have to deal with a nuclear-armed Iran in the foreseeable future. We do not have the will to take on Iran at this time.

Well what do you know, all along I thought George Bush was the Commander in Chief.

Can’t we just hire the Russians to do it?

LOL, VP Cheney has got to be chuckling over this one!
To: ought-six
More importantly, we don’t have the troops.

Bruce Reidel is an advisor to Bill Richardson’s Presidential campaign from what I can tell.
I seriously doubt anyone at the Whitehouse takes his calls, to be polite about it, and as such I doubt he has any idea whats going on inside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, let alone between Cheney and Gates.
Google is a wonderful thing, when used effectively.

Flame away. I’m a Vietnam vet. I know what it looks like when the government loses the will to fight.

"Im not sure that Im accepting this report at face value. "I agree with this, but I can't deny it either. One thing that I have sensed is that Dick Cheney is the one with the cajones. That's why my rear bumper says CHENY 07. Bush should resign, let the move-ons deal with Cheney, with Rummy as VP. They will be apoplectic for 18 months.

Pentagon sources say Mr Gates is waging a subtle campaign to undermine the Cheney camp by encouraging the army's senior officers to speak frankly about the overstretch of forces, and the difficulty of fighting another war. Hmmm. This doesn't seem to jibe with what General Petraeus has been saying lately about Iran.
To: vbmoneyspender
While I’m a bit skeptical, I can say one thing for sure that does jibe with this article . . . I have noticed a recent spike in the media of late with military figures talking about how our forces are overstretched in Iraq.
