In the telephone interview after the speech, Mrs. Clinton also tacitly criticized opponents of evolution. Some of the 2008 Republican presidential candidates have said flatly that they do not believe in evolution, while other Republican contenders have said they support teaching evolution, intelligent design and creationist ideas.
I believe in evolution, and I am shocked at some of the things that people in public life have been saying, Mrs. Clinton said in the interview. I believe that our founders had faith in reason and they also had faith in God, and one of our gifts from God is the ability to reason......

Typical Clinton lies. If the Federal government weren’t unconstitutionally involved in science, then it wouldn’t matter in the slightest what any presidential candidate thought about evolution.
I agree with poster who said this is code for “more Federal funding for embryo experimentation.”

If Hillary wants to shield science from government she needs to abolish the Surgeon General's office, end the National Science Foundation, close the CDC in Atlanta, etc.
The government is so deeply involved in science that it is now difficult to figure out what is actually science and what is government sponsored political mythmaking.
Under a Hillary regime expect Second-Hand Smoke to be declared the greatest threat facing the nation after studies "prove" it can kill you if you get within a mile downwind from it....and the only way to prevent getting AIDS is to have promiscuous sex with multiple partners of both sexes and approved animals and plants.

So does this mean that she’s going to gag Al Gore?

Talk about double-speak! Or should I say Hillary-speak?
To: ATOMIC_PUNK
Yes. The Nazi’s gave science Carte Blanche to experiment on humans without moral constraint.
In the name of science they froze, burned, poisoned, and worse. All in the name of the state. Hitlery is aptly named.

Art I Sec 8 paragraph 8. It doesn’t apply to what she says she would do, but it is a constitutional authorization for Congress “[T]o promote the Progress of Science”.

The headline is misleading. Hillary! will only shield the scientific studies with which she agrees. In a recent Boston Magazine article, a black researcher/professor was profiled. His research had determined that adult stem cells were far superior for combating cancer and that embryonic stem cells frequently created new tumors. He was denied tenure. He is suing for discrimination.

Question: The science of biology?

PS- Said researcher is at Harvard. No surprise. The Ivys have become nothing but repositories for rich liberals. Sadly the stature of the Ivys seems set in stone. I doubt that many look past the Ivy degree to find out if the student had learned anything more than a Marxist approach to life. Not slamming anyone on here with an Ivy degree. Just the majority of the students at those institutions seem to be lacking these days..

I recall when Clinton “scientists” were salting woods with lynx hair to “prove” the “endangered” critter roamed the woods.
This, of course, was a ploy by the eco-fascists in the federal Marxist bureaucracy to close more land to the public, as decreed in the UN’s biodiversity treaty, which the US senate rejected in 1994. The treaty was consequently illegally applied via presidential executive order by the Clinton criminal through his office of sustainable development.
And I believe the “scientists” were given raises and transferred to some other bureaucrat department where they continue their work to impose Marxism on rural America.
Heil Hillary! We are heading for a reckoning in this country.

What an interesting thought. Is it possible to be a liberal and believe in the Bible as the literal word of God? I should think not. No wonder they hate the religious right.

To shield us from politics she needs to shield us from self government.

This seems more “debate is over” to impose envirowacko socilism without actual scientific examination.
IOW every time socialism by executive fiat is challenged then “we are protecting science from politics” would be claimed.
