President George Bush has repeated his belief all religions, "whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God" – an assertion that caused outrage among evangelical leaders when he said it in November 2003.

Like father like son.

When they meet him, people who know me are astonished at how much my son is like me.

Likewise when I meet people who only know my son, they invariably say something like: “Now I see where he gets it!”

Does that mean he and I are one person?

The Lamb was slain before the foundations of the Earth. Man didn’t HAVE TO fall into sin, but God knew that it would happen, and he determined before the creation that he would send his son to provide a means of escape from the punishment for sin.

It’s all about God’s glory - the creator of all who would be perfectly justified if he never offered a way out of the condition that man finds himself in, but who magnifies himself in the grace and mercy offered through Christ.

After letting all the generations of 4000 years or more go to Hell, first, of course...

God loves all of us and is all forgiving and all merciful. I'll concern myself about how to gain his forgiveness and mercy for myself and won't speculate how he will show his love and mercy to others, including Muslims.

Not true at all (the part about him loving all of us). Check out these verses:

Romans 9:10-13 And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.” As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”

Malachi 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

He certainly didn't love Esau. Also see these:

Psalm 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Hosea 9:15 I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings.

God has a general love for his creation, but for those who reject him (and he knows who they are before they are even born), they will suffer an eternity in hell as enemies of God.

"Why do you write into Scripture and imply Jesus Christ isn’t Jewish? .

Jesus was Jewish and I never said he wasn't. That doesn't make him what you say he was.

I find nothing in His testimony to suggest He is not God the Son, before Abraham, the ‘I AM’

I find nothing in your testimony to suggest that you are not the Easter Bunny, but I am not going to go out on a limb and proclaim that you are the Easter Bunny, just because you haven't said that you're not. About Abraham, the I AM and all that is that like Sam I am and green eggs and ham? I don't do the trinity and I don't do the ham thing either. Why does my respect of Him and affording that same shared faith with yourself disgust you?"

Here we have proof that you are either devilishly devious or stupendously stupid. I am not disgusted with your respect for Jesus, the trinity or any other Christian doctrine and have never given so much as a nano-hint to that effect. I don't even mind that you would like to share your respect for these ideas with me. What disgusts me is your sanctimonious and profoundly insolent way of telling me what Judaism is and what are Jewish beliefs, like the preposterous notion that Judaism accepts the trinity. What further disgusts me is your obnoxious and completely unapologetic denunciation of and contempt for my beliefs and the beliefs of many other people on this site who do not share your views. Finally, what brings my disgust to projectile vomiting pitch, is your insistence on continuing to hurl these insults and stupidities in the face of every proof that you are wrong, illogical, offensive and, worst of all, untruthful.

[Aside to the audience: I know, I know, you're wondering why I keep replying when I said I was done with this intellectual chihuahua. It's just too much fun to be left alone. (With my apologies to chihuahuas)]

Well, Jesus Christ is Jewish. Where’s the problem with that?

The point is not to make sure that your beliefs are right for YOU, but to make sure that you believe the truth about God and what he demands from you. God will not fail to send an unsaved person to hell even if they were well intentioned. That’s something that you, even as a flawed sinner (like the rest of us), should be very concerned about (as we all should).

"What disgusts me is your sanctimonious and profoundly insolent way of telling me what Judaism is and what are Jewish beliefs,..."

I simply am typing my thoughts and recognize Jesus Christ is Jewish. I am not telling anybody anything. Other people might be reading what I type and perhaps they are reading far more into what I type than they like to admit. BTW, most misery is self-induced.

"I have to point out one final thing: Genesis 1:2: 2” And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of teh waters.”

I'm so glad you brought that out. That happens to be from this past week's Torah portion. The famous commentator Rashi (d. 1105) says this refers to the spirit which G-d wished to bestow upon man, which happens a few passages later when it says that he blew into his nostrils a living soul. In 1:2, G-d is holding that spirit in waiting to form the corporeal being into which it will be infused. In Hebrew, there are several different expressions to describe the spirituality which is imparted to all living things. The word from Gen. 1:2 is "Ruach" (phonetic) and is one of those soul categories.

Bush: All religions pray to 'same God'

Religions don't pray. People pray. And they pray to a multiplicity of gods, demigods, ancestors, saints, demons, etc., etc., etc.. That anyone could claim that all prayers are directed to the same object is ludicrous on its face.

I absolutely agree. But I also know I won't believe something, especially when it comes to religion, just because people here claim it is so. For the record, I asked two very knowledgeable and trusted Christian friends today is Jesus is God. They are 51 and 58 and have been Christians their entire lives. And I was pleasantly surprised that they, too, believed as I do- that Jesus is the Son of God, part of the Holy Trinity with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Yet they do not believe that Jesus is God. Now whether that makes me right, them right, folks here right... who is to say? It will be an interesting topic in church, that's for sure. But having been raised as a Christian, to know the Holy Trinity and the Son of God, no where was I ever taught that Jesus is God.

What fascinates me more is that so many here are so quick to condemn and judge because someone simply believes something different. In a way, I am surprised. But then again, I'm not. This is FreeRepubic after all.

In this battle of wits, I choose to retire the field rather than dishonor myself in fighting an unarmed man. You need serious counseling. And get some new headgear: this is not working for you:
