And yet another flashback of a phony Democrat soldier. Here is World Net Daily's exploration of the lie Al Gore told about his "gassed Uncle in WWI" during his doomed run for president in 2000... turns out Gore didn't HAVE any family that served in WWI.

But it's still true that Hillary was considering joining the Marine Corps, isn't it?
What damned liars these Democrats are.

Maybe Gore was referring to his cousin Nerd Ray McWherter, former Governor of Tennessee. I was thought that he was a gas bag. Al might have told the truth for once.

Don’t know about WWl, but I saw his uncle, “Punk” Lafon getting gassed at the local VFW on more than one occasion

Wasn’t it Gore who was at his sister’s bedside as she lay dying of lung cancer, except he wasn’t? And a relative died from a back alley abortion, except she didn’t.
When he runs for 08, though, MSM will have forgotten.

Yeah, it’s definitely true. I talked to her in the recruitment office. I had just turned down offers to play major league baseball, professional football, and an invitation to be on the US Olympic team and went to the Marine Corps recruiter to talk about switching gears. That’s when I saw her. She was wearing a Yankee cap and told me it was her favorite team.

In fairness somebody needs to try to defend the devil. Algore Jr would have been about 10 or 11 when his uncle died, based on the 1959 obit, at which time the tale already existed, so he may have only been guilty of believing what he was told by his parents. At least it's unlikely then young Al dreamed this up his own. Also some military records were lost in a fire in St. Louis in the 60s so lack of government evidence isn't always proof of them never having been. Still when you go to the
longer WND story linked at the original article above their negative information appears to be very strong. If it were true you'd have thought Gore's family might have had some records to confirm it or that the press might have unearthed some old WWII articles about the Congressman from TN, Al Sr., having a brother who'd been gassed in WWI.
To: Kid Shelleen
Al Gore (no doubt) believed the “war stories” of his Uncle who died in 1959 when he was 10 years old.
To: ricks_place
AL Gore’s uncle was probably a smoker...coughing was misdiagnosed as a gas injury; democrats always make themselves victims. /sarc.

I’d like someone to do a study on the family histories of politicians. There appears to be an amazing lack of any real value given to humanity...except for “public service”...which when used in political context, seems about as valuable as a Peace Prize. Since Gore’s father was also a senator, I believe, this could serve as first confirmation of complete non-achievement in his family,

An M-16 will go bang without the clip in it, if a round is chambered. You are correct!

Speaking about the Gores... my grandfather and his grandmother were siblings. My middle name is “Albert” in honor of the same man. Now, my grandfather was just a bit too young to fight in the First World War, but he did serve in the National Guard around 1920.
