The good life is over, (sigh). I got transferred to Saudi Arabia. No more single-malt Scotch. It's back to coffee and tea. Only four more days of Ramadan. I won't have to hide behind the air conditioning ducts to smoke a cigarette during daylight.

KSA is much more open than my last extended stay; the new King Abdullah has opened up many markets. Tons of money from oil sales to USA. Much improvement, but miles to go.

Thanks for the actual figures, kabar. I guess I have to say high 40% for 2nd time.

Also, we were always told that Perot took equally from Republicans and Democrats, but they never say what percentage of the Democrats Perot got were Reagan Democrats. IOW registered Ds who tended to vote R and likely would have against a cowardly and scummy Clinton.

Getting ready for church ...

Here’s 2 well-known entertainers .. 2 divergent views.

I was pleasantly surprised to read this about Kid Rock .. he can be very blue, but God love him .. he’s also very red, white and blue:

~~~~~
“Rock Takes A Shot At Penn
We’d love to see a debate on the war in Iraq between Kid Rock and Sean Penn.
Rock didn’t name Penn in his interview with Penthouse magazine, but he seemed to be aiming at the actor when he said, “These kids [U.S. soldiers] are very young and a lot of them think people who oppose the war are against them. You have to be very careful with what you talk about - especially when you are some Hollywood [bleep]er.
Just because you made a great movie doesn’t make you are an expert on foreign policy.” Rock spent Christmas with the troops and met then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, whom he defends.
“I was at the White House drinking a Beam and Coke, shooting the [bleep] with Rumsfeld, when [President] Bush came by and gave me five like we were on Seven Mile and Van Dyke in Detroit,” he told Penthouse.
And Rock is a big proponent of firearms: “If it weren’t for guns and people who know how to use them in America, we’d all be sitting around with swastikas saying, ‘Heil Hitler!’”
~~~~

And then there’s Joy Behar .. ultra liberal, vapid, nasty and arrogant airhead from The View.

Her interview on Larry King will give you nausea and a compulsion to throw many things, but you may want to bookmark it and read it at some point.

The reason: millions of shallow-thinking, pack mentality, emtpy-headed libs just like her are out there, driving poll numbers, attending fundraisers, spewing their views and convincing others who will vote with their fantasies.

I sometimes make myself watch this drivel to get the pulse of how the enemy’s thinking and what OUR challenges are.

They’re real, and she’s very representative of millions of nasty liberals who are totally hateful and completely in the dark about facts, reality, etc.. but STILL need to be countered.

Joy Behar on Larry King

Believe me, it was infuriating watching it .. the venom, and the nonchalant way she throws out these lies, but I think you have to know your enemy to craft your strategy. And we need to be armed for these loonies.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s just a thought. By the way, Whoopi’s challenge to the sweet conservative Elizabeth Hasselbeck was also simply disgusting .. but there are millions being brainwashed and spoonfed their voting decisions by these so-called entertainers.

Hah! The absence of the Phony Outrage scandal signals that the hard left in the media are maybe a little smarter than the hard, extremist left in congress because the media understand who won and who lost in that revolting farce.

See my post # 90. I’m not kidding. The fix is already in.

The 100%’ers are the bleating sheep that will be led to slaughter based on their principles. Soros’s money, along with millions of $ more that the dems have, will be used in any way the Clintons see fit to get themselves back in power. They will do WHATEVER it takes, and it won’t all be spent on issue ads and focus groups.

Dirty tricks cost a lot of $ and that’s what we’re in store for. Of course you know my disdain for the lying, biased DBM. They could expose the dirty tricks, but take the Hsu story, for example. Hardly a peep, and now it’s “old” news.

If a Clinton corrupts in an forest, and no media outlet choses to hear it, does it get reported?

Nah, we’ll just argue about whether Fred Thompson is really a Christian ‘cause Dr Dobson never saw him go to church. Fred’s lazy, too. Oh yeah, Rudy dresses in drag, while Mitt is a evil Mormon. Costs a lot of $ to keep the smearin’ alive.

Not much of life here in Saudi, especially during the very un-merry month of Ramadan. I've been hiding in my hotel during the night; too much traffic, too much craziness.

It's good to have Internet access with you guys to keep up with the news back home. My hotel doesn't even have CNN! Hello Al-Jazeira

The last segment on FoxNews Sunday about Hillary’s campaign mgr. should have a tag running under it as a political ad. What a fluff piece.

It's so bald-faced and blatant and wide spread that I'm inclined to think it's strategy: they're trying to provoke us into demanding some representation--at which time they swoop in with the BS "fairness" doctrine.

I think we’ve been down this road before, Fishtalk. To start, I absolutely agree the Republicans have got to tighten their belts, put on their swords, and go to battle. Hard. Like the mean it. Like the battle for life versus death as that is what it is.

However, they don’t invite themselves on to these shows. Fat, Perjuring Tim, Purple-Faced Rage Bob, Georgey Steponallofus, etc, all make the guest lists for their shows. Actually, that’s not quite true. The guest lists are now faxed in from DNC headquarters.

We need our own network. Fox has lost its soul.

Our host asked me to repost the table I put together of the appearances by Democrat and Republican presidential candidates on the last 10 Sunday shows.  It provides tangible evidence of the bias of these programs in this election cycle.  I had this comment in my preview thread:

Any pretense that the Sunday Shows are anything but infomercials for the DNC and George Soros is getting very thin.  Virtually everything on the dinosaur media shows seems set up to echo Howard Deans latest talking points.  Fortunately they are increasingly only fooling themselves.

Here's the table and supporting info

Prior to this weekend the last Republican presidential candidate to appear was John McCain on the 16th of September.  McCain has been on three other times, going back to the Republican "debate" on August 5th.  In fact, going back to that August 5th debate there have been 23 appearances by Democrat candidates and 17 by Republicans (not counting non-candidate Newt).  Here's how it breaks down

  10/7 9/30 9/23 9/16 9/9 9/2 8/26 8/19 8/12 8/5
Hillary Clinton     5 shows         debate
Joseph Biden       1 show 1 show 2 shows   debate
Bill Richardson 1 show 1 show         1 show debate
John Edwards 1 show           1 show debate 1 show
Dennis Kucinich         1 show 1 show   debate
Chris Dodd               debate
Mike Gravel               debate
Barack Obama               debate

Mike Huckabee         1 show 1 show 1 show   1 show debate
John McCain       1 show 1 show     1 show   debate
Sam Brownback             1 show   1 show debate
Rudy Giuliani                   debate
Duncan Hunter                   debate
Ron Paul                   debate
Mitt Romney                   debate
Tom Tancredo                   debate
Tommy Thompson                   debate

Gee, I wonder if this will ever be explored by the dinosaur media?

Thank you for that, Pack Knight. This person was on last week and I was going to post just what you did today but forgot. It really is amusing, in a sad, head-shaking way.

Evil only understands power. It cannot be reasoned with, just suppressed. Like appeasement in the 1930s and 1990s, it just lets the bad guys think we're too afraid to stand up to them.

Many small to medium family-businesses here; Sorry, I don't know them. However, I'm looking for some fiber optic-to-coaxil switches and fiber optic patch panels for a CATV system upgrade.
