So, should viewers of Tuesday's Republican presidential debate expect an exchange of views between the candidates - or between the candidates and one of the event's moderators?
It's a fair question, given the jaw-dropping comments Thursday evening from MSNBC blowhard - and scheduled debate moderator - Chris Matthews.

..Matthews also moderated the May 3 debate at the Reagan Library—we can’t expect anything different from him this time...

Actually I remember the last day he subbed for Rush. It was the day after Columbine, and he read an editorial about the teacher who the children did not want to leave.
Those kids willed that man to go on living. When police ordered them to leave they did not want to go without their teacher. Under ordered they did.
He did not live to see those kids again.

From my understanding Russert was at the event where Matthews called the Bush Administration a criminal enterprise.

Because we should not desire that republicans behave like democrats. Democrats shunned FoxNews because they are afraid of meaty questions. I don't want republicans to appear to be afraid or just plain petty. Because we want legitimate candidates. We want to see how they handle unfair situations under pressure. If they can't handle Chrissy, how are they going to handle Imanutjob or some of the other dirtbags around the neighborhood.

The Republican candidates should just go ahead and do the debate. If Matthews tries ANYTHING, the candidates should simply stop, look at Matthews, and say
“Mr. Matthews, this is a debate between Republican candidates for President. You are not a candidate, and furthermore, you are not even a Republican. The television audience did not tune in to hear you argue and try to score your petty political points. If you want to PARTICIPATE in this debate, then you need to join the GOP and then enter the race for president as a Republican.
Until you do that, I, and the other candidates running for the Republican nomination, suggest you keep your opinions to yourself and simply moderate this debate. Thank you.”

Matthews is a joke ... the political leader of Iran is insane and could kill try to kill all of us. I don't see the similarity. I also don't believe that these gatherings we are fond of referring to as 'debates' are not a forum where we can judge the legitimacy of anyone. The man with the best 15-second sound bite basically wins.

Its a good thing for Matthews that memories are so short. This guy is a natural born loser who could only exist amongst today’s MTV benumbed lackwits. For God’s sake the man’s most famous turn of phrase was to call the post-Nixon/Vietnam era as a period of American Malaise!
