Then why does he agree that further investigations are necessary? He could shut this down by simply telling the Truther he's not going along with any investigation because their claims are fanciful. But he doesn't (and hasn't) done that.
The more he seeks attention (by attending shows like Alex Jones) in these circles the more he makes the real world question his honesty if not his sanity. And your explanations are nothing more than spin. Before he was on Alex Jones a lot cuz no one else would take him, this is now changing. :) So, if I read you right he goes on Alex Jones for exposure. Yet he doesn't in any way support their beliefs. It's exposure, pure and simple. If true, the black truth to that is he's courting a segment of the voting public he has no intention of representing once in office. He's misleading and lying to them. Either that or he does support their beliefs and his denials to us are the untruths. Which is it? is he lying to them or to us? You can't have it both ways.
Don't put it off on 'this is what politicians do to get elected'. It's far beyond that. It's either openly pandering a group he doesn't respect or defrauding the conservative wing of the GOP (to which he openly subscribes) when he's in effect a closet Truther.
well, I’ll agree with you, I don’t really know what purpose more investigations into 9/11 would serve. So I disagree with Paul on this. Although it would be nice to expose government for the corrupt and political rotting body it is, and maybe get some support to abolish some of it. :)
Did you know that some of the 9/11 comissioners attended a special pre-screening of Michael Moore’s pure propoganda Fahrenheit 9/11?
I think it’s fair to say he does go to Alex Jones for exposure, but, as you suggest, there’s probably also a degree to which Paul agrees with Alex Jones on other issues. Alex Jones does a lot more than talk about 9/11, he’s more or less a libertarian on almost all the other issues, is my understanding, I’ve never listened to him, so I don’t really know, but I’m sure he and Paul agree in a lot of areas. I’m sure there are things you agree with Alex Jones with, maybe you’d like to pay less taxes for instance (gasp!).
What if you went on Alex Jones and talked about lowering taxes? Would that make you a ‘truther’?
That's a very good point. If you check out mnehrling's link in post 12 http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=22739, it's fair to say most of his supporters there are either supportive or accepting of the Alex Jones connection. Is he going to dump on them, or as a couple suggest, disassociate himself now, then initiate these investigations after becoming President.
Are his friends and supporters important.
Human Events: Follow-up -- thank you -- follow-up question. [Laughter] Take two minutes and tell me the people that you would name to your cabinet or to your official family.RP: Probably, I wont do a very good job of that because I havent thought that through and there are certainly a lot of friends and
Well, yeah. They're his supporters, they're his friends, and it's reasonable to assume they'll be involved on a Paul administration. And he has a lot of friends.
Or, as bcsco suggests, he may just dump them, in itself not much of a recomendation.
