Well, from your two links I got two things:

1) that was a GREAT interview at Human Events.

2) many if not most of the people at that Ron Paul forum thread were not enthused about his going on the Alex Jones show.

I'm not going back to count, but it struck me that the majority were fine with it, a number enthuiastic, a number admitting that Jones is how they found Ron Paul. In the 150 or so comments you'd be hard pressed to find 5 aggressively criticizing Paul for lack of judgement. The neocon press will misreport this not being criticism for lack of judgement in my book, simply opportunism.

But people can click the thread and come to their own conclusions.

I read through page 3, and the majority seemed to think it was a good idea for Paul to go on the Alex Jones show.

Well, yeah. They're his supporters, they're his friends, and it's reasonable to assume they'll be involved on a Paul administration. And he has a lot of friends.

Or, as bcsco suggests, he may just dump them, in itself not much of a recomendation.

Paul is a lot like other politicians who try the 'big tent' approach to nominations. They try to garner support from across a broad spectrum of society, believing that's the only real ticket to nomination/winning. Rudy Giuliani is another example.

And in Paul's case, this has taken him into very rocky waters. Yet his continued association with these fringe groups is a tacit indication he's comfortable with them.

I personally believe he will continue to court them. And I believe what we see is a microcosm of what his administration would look like. As an example, look at his spoken association with Dennis Kucinich in the video. Ron Paul has no compulsion against working with this leftard. Birds of a feather it would be.

My response to my question is "...he does support their beliefs and his denials to us are the untruths".

That was my take, and the objections were of the this will be misinterprited variety, not objections to the venue.

Bottom line is I don’t there is anything wrong with RP going and speaking to any and all groups, fringe or not, wherever they will accept him so he can spread his freedom message.

He’ll have to accept people will assume and read into things and he’ll have to deal with that.

He is certainly not an astute politician, I’m not sure he even understands how some of his actions are perceived, but at the same time that sort of folksy ignorance is what draws so many of us to him.

The fact that the moonbattiest of the fringies are drawn to Ron Paul speaks volumes about him.

Well, you've bought the short stick with that. And you're in the distinct minority here. I'd say your time would be better spent at http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=22739.

I'm not trying to get you off this forum, it's just an explicit acknowledgment you are a square peg around here.

He’ll have to accept people will assume and read into things. No kidding! ...and he’ll have to deal with that. He hasn't yet, shows no indication of doing so, and it's doubtful IMO that he will.

He is certainly not an astute politician, I’m not sure he even understands how some of his actions are perceived, but at the same time that sort of folksy ignorance is what draws so many of us to him.

With the situation the World is in today, the last thing we need is a president who displays his 'folksy ignorance' for all to see.

Paul supports a re-investigation into 9/11

Ron Paul says the investigation will be a little better now that the Democrats are in charge.

SJackson’s link to the Ron Paul forum where they discuss his new visit to the Alex Jones show displays a preponderance of support for the move. Several state that Alex Jone’s show is where they first heard about Ron Paul.

No one, I repeat no one seeks such lunatic fringe elements unless there is a kernel of sympathy (at the very least) for such views. The fact that Paul seeks their attention is tacit admission that he seeks votes from anyone. There is no evidence of belief in anything other than furthering ones career. The same may be said for his voting pattern on porkbarrel spending. The man is happy being anything to everybody; just as long as it garners votes.

There are so many ways this path can take, and none of them are good. If what you are saying is true, then you are calling on us to support someone is 'ignorant' and is unable to understand how his actions are perceived? Not a good sign.

Luckily, I disagree with that. I think Paul, who has been in office for more than two decades and has run for President before, knows exactly how his actions are perceived and is not ignorant in the least. It is an act to play to the anti-establishment minded voter. He is an establishment politician who has found a niche voice that gets him votes and attention. He is no ignorant fool. He is playing the political game and he has a lot of folks on his hook.

That's true. And another reason to not support his candidacy in a GOP primary.

Comment from 'Senior Member, V4Vendetta' at RonPaulForums:

I have sat here and read most of the crap on here about Alex Jones and 9/11 truth.
LET ME MAKE MYSELF PERFECTLY CLEAR ON THIS.....
RON PAUL WOULD NOT BE ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW IF IT WASN'T FOR ALEX JONES AND THE 9/11 TRUTH MOVEMENT

I saw that post. And it brings up another unsavory question regarding Ron Paul. Is he pandering out of being thankful to those who've created his popularity? Is he pandering because he accepts at least part of their premise? Or is he pandering because he sees it as his only way to remain a viable contender in the GOP process?

In any event; regardless of which answer is true, he is not someone who is acceptable for the position of President of the United States. His whole campaign is pathetic.

That's right. And over those years he's seen the problems Republicans like Trent Lott had over the Council of Conservative Citizens and Pat Buchanan (a prominent Republican then) over his published article in the Spotlight and suggestion that the Republican Party adopt David Duke's "acceptable" ideas. But he looks to the nutball fringe for support anyway. Paul I don't care about, but if the media decides to treat him as a viable candidate, we're right back to the characterization of the Republican Party as the party of moonbats and haters.
