Google ignored Memorial Day and Veterans Day, but today they have a special logo up to commemorate an event that must be near to their hearts—the 50th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s launch of the Sputnik satellite.

The Third Reich’s missile program gave us technology that got us to the Moon, but you are right Google would not champion the anniversary of those launches.

This is just stupid blather.

They were recognizing a milestone in spaceflight, one that actually was rather accidental and that came about because of the scientists convincing the Kremlin that launching a satellite would be good propaganda. But the scientists’ objective was launching a non-military satellite to demonstrate it could be done. Both the Soviets and America were concentrating on developing ICBMs, not peaceful spaceflight.

Some of you are acting like Google was displaying a hammer and sickle.

No they should've saved that for the Communist holiday International Women's Day.

The Google goons are a bunch of anti-military Leftists who purposely refuse to commemorate American Military Veterans both alive & dead...and their families while commemorating the Commie achievement.

Well you Google apologists can continue to make excuses for the Google goons and I will continue to expose the military hating Leftists.

To be fair regarding that last bit, there was also the issue with how our launching first would have posed some problems due to it technically violating certain aspects of international law, and considering the Communists are infamous for throwing tantrums across the globe if they don’t get their way by instigating global protests (like with the execution of the Rosenbergs), we did have to be very concerned about that aspect.

But regarding the overall topic, honestly, if we are to use their logic regarding technological innovation celebration, they should have no problems advocating for the launch of S3 missiles by the Nazis due to it ultimately leading to peaceful space exploration, or heck, even our developing the nuclear bomb, yet I don’t see them doing that. And that’s of course ignoring that they’re deliberately ignoring military-related holidays.
