Clinton preferred over Giuliani in US race: poll
AFP ^ | October 4, 2007

Democrat Hillary Clinton would beat Republican Rudolph Giuliani in the race for the US presidency if the election was held now, according to poll data released Thursday.

Senator Clinton, wife of ex-president Bill Clinton and the strong front-runner for the Democratic nomination for next year's election, held a 51-43 percent margin over Giuliani in a Washington Post-ABC News poll.

The poll showed Democrat voters favoring Clinton over Giuliani by 88-9 percent while independents were for Clinton 48-44 percent. Republican voters preferred Giuliani, the former New York City mayor, 88-10 percent.

The poll also showed that two-thirds of voters believe Clinton would take the country in a different direction compared with her husband during his 1993-2001 presidency, with most considering that "a good thing."

Another Washington Post-ABC News poll released Wednesday showed Clinton was the solid favorite for the Democrat nomination in the November 2008 election.

She held a 33 point lead over her closest rival, fellow Senator Barack Obama.

Giuliani, meanwhile, leads most polls in his party's race, but is more closely dogged by rivals Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson.

Fortunately, I do not think ANY Catholics will be voting for Rooty Toot because he is Catholic. But if Rooty is the nominee, I have a feeling that a great many conservative Catholics and Evangelicals will stay home or vote third party.

Rudy is weak, very weak, on WOT. I don’t know where the myth that he is strong on WOT originated but it isn’t true.

"I was mayor on 9/11" is no different from "I served in Vietnam." The reality is that Rooty Toot did NOTHING in seven and a half years as mayor to develop an evacuation plan for a known terrorist target with the knowledge that evacuation would be critical.

Maybe someone should ask the Rooty Rooters why Admiral Husband E. Kimmel was never nominated for anything.

You may think I am nuts, wagglebee, but I have had enough. I am over 50 years old. I have finally found peace with myself for deciding I would be true to myself.

I am no longer going to “hold my nose”. I am going to stick with what my Mama and Papa told me.

Holding ones nose when you corrupt yourself = accepting what you know is just wrong, and end up regretting it.

No longer going to happen, and I will no longer FEEL bad or be made to FEEL bad.

With 49% unfavorability ratings this poll postulates she will garner every voter who hasn’t already said they dislike her. Not likely.

True, except and unless the GOP fields a RINO, causing a great deal of her opposition to sit this one out.

All the Republicans need to do is turn out the base and they will win this election by a landslide. Unfortunately, if one of the top tier gets nominated the turnout will be thin.

I think I can stand voting for Rooty in the General, but if the nominee is Ron Paul or John McCain, forget about it.

(My man, for the purpose of full disclosure, is the Big DH.)

And, if HILLARY! wins the big prize, I can’t think of anybody more DESERVING of her DEMON SOCIALIST RULE than the GOP leadership.

Our disagreement over Rick Warren might have changed a bit by now, too. :>)

Rudy is a disaster for this nation.

He & his supporters are saying to us: “If you will just agree with me to kill our children, then we can win the presidency.” (If the mark of the beast is an internal assent to the satanic, then such a bargain is clearly a deal with the devil.)

You have the same hang up as many others in the GOP. You see the party names and automatically assume it makes them different from each other. You fail to recognize the GOP ideology is incrementally aligning itself with the socialist Democrats. Consequently they are becoming one party regardless of the party title.

How do they adjust it? Blacks make up about 12% of the US population.

By using a mathematical process called weighting. The tally collected by the survey-takers is the raw data: say 250 votes for Hillary, 200 for Obama, 100 for Edwards. After the weighting is applied, these numbers will change to account for such factors as the oversampling of blacks. For example if 24 black respondents chose Hillary that might be corrected to 19 after weighting.

I don’t disrespect your beliefs. I have seen the sonograms of my granddaughter at 4.5 months and even a tiny fetus looked like a person.
I do find abortion to be a complex issue, since one can imagine an ectopic pregnancy that can result in the death of the mother. You believe that life starts at conception, therefore saving the mother’s life requires eliminating the recently conceived fetus.
Do you still object to saving the life of the mother? Also, if your Daughter or Wife were raped, would you object to an abortion early in the pregnancy when the fetus is minuscule?

Going beyond that, I would call you a ONE ISSUE voter, with tunnel vision. Your position would result in the election of Hildebeast, who would appoint Supreme Court Justices like Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
I think you are wrong.

tunnel vision...position result in election of Hildebeest

Actually, that would be the fault of those who insist on nominating Rudy. They know that there's no way a pro-life voter can go against God and approve of murder.

Knowing that, they then nominate an anti-life candidate. What do they expect to happen?

It is as if they are saying to us: "Just agree with us to murder our children, and we can win the presidency."

They can hardly expect us to agree to that. Personally, I don't see how any Christian can agree to that.

Your position would result in the election of Hildebeast, who would appoint Supreme Court Justices like Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

The blame will lie with the American people; with people who are willing to sacrifice their posterity on the altar of political expediency. Since many principled republicans will not vote for Rudy Giuliani under any circumstances, the blame for Hillary's election will be at the feet of those who chose expediency over principle.

George, is there any mountain that you would be willing to die upon? Is there nothing more important to you than winning?

It ain’t incrementally my friend. Jorge and company have led a full blown stampede towards bigger and more powerful government.
