Fred Thompson on Harry Reids attacks on Rush Limbaugh
Congressional Democrats are trying to divert attention from insulting our military leader in Iraq and pandering to the loony left by attacking Rush Limbaugh. He is one of the strongest supporters of our troops, yet Democrats claim he is not being strong enough. I wonder who General Petraeus and his troops think is most supportive?

Flame away.Rush Limbaugh has been a commentator on contemporary conservative thought for over 19 years. He has the largest (by far) radio audience of any talk-radio program. He is a friend of Justice Clarence Thomas.
Do you believe it is inadmissible for politicians, who claim to be conservative, to come to the assistance of such a well-known and respected individual when attacked by the left? I just want to get your purpose for posting your comments.
Keep in mind, by your logic, should Romney, Hunter, whomever, become President, it would be wrong for anyone on the right to come to his support when attacked by the left. Is that what you're angling for?

Whether you want to admit it or not, these are the same people who will shut down ANY conservative talk if they get elected. They don't want to address the fact they couldn't condemn MoveOn.org for insulting a real hero in Gen. Betraus.
It IS a big deal, and your guy was asleep at the wheel.

Yep, it's been a heavy day for Willard's VRT, what with Willard climbing into bed with Harry
Phony Patriot Reid.
Tough to rationalize that.

You’ve attacked Fred on every issue and everthing! LOL
You attacked his integrity, his veracity, his conservatism and his adherence to federalism. You attack his family, his wife and his children with impunity. Noiw you attack Fred for defending Rush. This serves no good purpose.
Not for nothing but you sound like a low life gutter trash.
Instead of constantly attacking a good conservative like Fred, why not post threads that support your candidate. Lord knows he can use the help.

Romney's second-hand statement is exceeded in milquetoastism only by the letter to Reid by the CEO of Rush's network.
I'll excuse the CEO because being a media mogul, he's probably as liberal as they come.....and the letter was like a hairball he had to cough up. I think we got the best we could expect from him, but I expected much more from Romney. What I got was a letdown of massive proportions.
But then, I've been a Fred supporter from the beginning, he's a man's man and isn't afraid to show it. I did not peg him wrong.
Nor did I peg Romney wrong.

Fred blatantly gets Limbaugh to advertise him free of charge on his show. Upset because your candidate not only didn't have the testicular fortitude to back Rush and denounce the loony left, but also didn't have the foresight to realize the 20 million or so Rush fans would hear about it on his show? Fred did the right thing backing Rush. AND he would have done it whether Rush mentioned it or not.

“Is this what Mitt really said,if so its absolutely unacceptable in this mans book. What a cowardly politically correct statement from a man who claims to be a real leader.”
Yes, Mitt was not supportive. However, after he found out the facts, he had his people call Rush. They told Rush that Mitt would make a “corrective/supportive” statement “if he is asked about it”. Well, guess he hasn’t been asked! If and when he is asked it will be just too little and too late in my book. GO FRED! The one who will REALLY stand up to the socilist DEMS!

Perhaps Willard will throw his spokesman under the bus when he flip flops. He’s going to have to fix this soon.
The suspense is delicious!

"What a cheap ploy for political points. Fred blatantly gets Limbaugh to advertise him free of charge on his show."As soon as you're done sucking farts out of subway seats, you might want to give some hard thought to the idea that Hunter will have a lot of critical work to do as a Cabinet Member in the Thompson Administration.
To: Petronski
I think Fred is the front runner for the “Rush endorsement” anyway....just a hunch.
Regardless, way to go Fred! You have re-affirmed my belief in you.
