He also was charged with forgery and grand theft in 1993, and a misdemeanor charge of abandonment of a child in 1994. His convictions date back to 1988, with his reckless driving charge, and continue until the last decade with a DUI in 2001, a driving with a suspended license case in 2002, and the current DUI case which began after his arrest in April last year. You've got to love these government employees.

Not if you live in Washington state. You need to rack up 5 DUI’s before they’re even counted as a felony.

David Miranda, 43, was appointed
Tell me who was he appointed by and how can you be appointed to a position service children in school when one of your convictions is ‘abandonment of a child?”

My Brother got 18 months in Tehachapi State Prison (Calif) for 3 DUI’s in 7 years. He moved out of the State 2 weeks after release and has not had a drnk since 1995.
Of course, he was only a welder.

Guess he gets off because the school district needs him to continue to find jobs at bars and taverns for high school grads. /s

David Miranda is just doing some resume-building.
So he can maybe be the next Mike Hernandez on The Los Angeles City Council.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Hernandez
Funny, Wikipedia makes no mention of Hernandez doing cocaine...
in his Council office.

If he were living in Alaska, he would still be in prison - no chance for #4.

These kinds of actions by the legislature and the courts tell us one thing.
There are way too many drunks in power.
