"Not true, meathead." and "Youre a bigotted clown ..."

And you sweetheart, have all the charm of a used piece of toilet paper, and your comprehension skill are less.

I do not care about the families that did get a raw deal, because they are pushing one themselves.

Their beef is with the VOTERS and not the TAXPAYERS.

Suing the taxpayers for more than their legal costs is wrong.

Maybe in your twisted little world two wrongs make a right, but they don't in mine. Now go home and get your shine box.

I think it's wonderful that there is legal recourse if you are stupid enough to pour coffee on your lap, but if you are minding your own business - and some of the the lacrosse players were not even at the party - and you are placed in jeopardy of 30 years' imprisonment because of the intentional malicious acts of a politician, Mark was here feels free to second guess you for taking it seriously. After the fact, he knows that you did not in fact get jailed or even indicted - so he thinks that the you suffered no harm at all.

But you know that if Mark was here had been in your shoes, he would now be demanding a pound of flesh nearest the heart, from everyone in Durham.

Au contraire , Mr Perspicacity. Taxpayers are voters, and all voters pay taxes either directly or indirectly. You vote for evil and you get caught, you pay the piper. A jury can award punitive costs and in this case, they will. Otherwise, these elected miscreants will pull the same thing again and again. You don't have to abide a corrupt local government; you can always move.
