I don’t know how Paul can get away saying things that are not true.
It’s Bush Bash time.
Thank you Tancredo... now say earmarks in defense bills.
vernice (missed last name): first female African American combat pilot! (someone we should all know - blackfive blog)
War in Iraq: 1/3 of country overwhelming against Iraq war.
AKeyes: our efforts there (and elsewhere) not effort to defend whites/blacks, christians, etc. but to defend against threat that came at us. more emphasis on security, not democracy in iraq
Huck: we have not kept promises to vets. mental health. vets’ bill or rights. pay vets first.
RP: most important promise = to constitution, shouldn’t be going to war unless declared. no body sees the end. false pretensese (paused for applause), people still believe Iraq had something to do w/9/11 (he’s pandering, has the talking points down on these issues, as an aside, he opened with that)
BB: we declared war, voted on both sides of the political aisle, military great job, terrible political answer. yesterday bipartisan bill passed: 3 state solution in Iraq (that Iraqis don’t want, nor their neighbors) “Iraq is less a country than three people” what an arrogant ignorant as*H*ole.
TomT: the founders knew that we couldn’t have 535 generals, you lose. Need CIC. Congress has every right to be involved and condemn, don’t fund but don’t micromanage
Duncan: only one to thank the named soldier (he’s the troops man). we can leave in victory. (no applaus). Key: have a reliable army. 131 battalions. (sorry re: spelling). rotate them into battlezone, rotate us out. tiny applause
You and I share a brain cell.
My first question would’ve been, how many of those in your numbers are illegal without healthcare?
Juan Williams introduces Vernice Armour, 1st female African-American combat pilot (served in Iraq)
Q: decline of black and latino enlistment, because of Iraq.
Keyes: our efforts in Iraq and elsewhere is to defend the USA and all its peoples. My father did not stand for any race, but to defend rights and the principles.
Huckabee: we have not kept all of our promises to our veterans. we must keep our promises.
Paul: keep our oath to the constitution, we shouldn’t have these veterans in hospitals because of this war under false pretenses. All the money’s going oversees.
Brownback: we declared war in congress. the military is doing a superb job. Biden-Brownback bill, break up into three regions
Tancredo: re: war, Congress can declare, fund it, or don’t fund it. 535 generals in congress will lose wars. You cannot micromanage it from Congress.
Hunter: thanks Vernice for her duty. Talk of his son’s service. We will leave Iraq in victory. The key to a security handoff is a reliable Iraqi army.
The line of questioning is more like this...
Since Lincoln, the Republicans have been a bunch of racists; what are you going to do to be more like the kind and generous Democrats?
Tucker is a trip. Bush has constantly harped on Darfur (ooh, big clap on abortion, shock), at the UN; He just spoke on it yesterday again... the UN only stated ‘concern’.
Don’t you have a “Day in the Life of President Bush” thread to start !!!
So this is where you all are????
Brownback goes after Paul again for his isolationism and commits us to Darfur.
Tancredo says we should rub the UNS nose in Darfur
Alan Keyes is one of the best orators around.
I didn’t know Alan Keyes was running again.
Good for him.
darfur
Huckabee: how about abortion? poverty. yes poverty around world, be involved, but that’s not the only problem (delta) here too
Rp: no authority to participate. everytime we get involved, it’s in a civil war, food in wrong hands. direct attention to national security, not for feel good reasons. obligatory get out of iraq comment. isloationism
BB: we need to stand up to genocide. invokes rwanda. good political comment. support african troops there. provide food and supplies
TomT: passed sudan peace act. not troops, is UN worth salt to resolve?
Hunter: outside troops not getting job done. get humanitarian corridor, UN armed convoys to get food and meds to people. teach villages self defense
AKeyes: we are a nation of all people. can’t turn backs on people of the world, support and reinforce local responsibility. (traves doesn’t like Keyes, always cuts him off, granted he goes over).
Good time to remind everyone how we help anyone when something goes down in the world.
I hope Alan Keyes whoops Ron Paul’s butt.... is that wrong?
Q: genocide in Darfur. Do we have a roll?
30 second answers.
Huckabee: slaughter of unborn children. Poverty in the delta.
Paul: we don’t have constitutional authority. Civil wars. Even when we send food. bring troops home from Iraq.
Brownback: I couldn’t disagree more with that last answer.
Tancredo: Sudan Peace Act. We do have a moral responsibility. We don’t have to send troops.
Hunter: African Union are not getting the job don’t. Troops always get there late. Humanitarian corridor. Convoys to get food and medicine. Teach self defense.
Keyes: Don’t retreat into isolationist America. We cannot turn our backs.
Suarez, the dum-dum, speaks for all “blacks and Latinos,” who according to him do not support the death penalty.
Ay, ay, ay!
Dang, good thing i’m not there to answer the death penalty question...
