memo to estonia: someone else’s pipeline on your property is a much higher political chip than a freaking snail darter.
This is a big deal for Putin and Russia. They definitely don’t want to cross over Poland as the political climate there is a little chilly for Putin. With the Baltic Sea pipeline they would be able to bypass both the Ukraine and Poland where some of their pipelines presently pass.
Putin clearly has a plan to own Europe from an energy viewpoint but Estonia for right now is a fly in the ointment. I don’t know if they can still use the Baltic floor and avoid Estonian territorial waters. If not, look for Putin to put pressure on them.
Old Tallin saved by the Estonians during the occupation is lovely.
Not when its a giant Russian thumb. Estonia is not only standing up for Estonia’s interests. All of Free Europe owes a debt of gratitude to this brave little country for forging unity within the EU in their dealings with Russia.
Alright you guys... Just what is the meaning of this? (hands on hips)
Hmmmmm.....
I guess they didn’t want to be a country anymore.
I sense a takeover coming....
agreed - esp since russkie/ussr former client (E Germany) has spread out and influenced Germany in a variety of ways. Some of the details in this article re russkie plans re its navy and personnel in N Estonia are potentially ominous.
I sure hope Estonia has checked with the U.N. to see if it has permission to object.
Better watch out Estonia. Russia and Germany my make a treaty...
schroeder’s now a gazprom rep?
lol!
Ping.
Shrugging shoulders..."I'll ask my girlfriend, she's from next door."
They have not had good relations between the countries for some time. Putin hates the Estonians.

Thank you!
Thanks again!!
Most interesting.
It shouldn’t be terribly difficult for the big oil/gas investors to survey and lay pipeline in a different area and outside an unwilling nation’s sovereign borders and econic zone. Likewise, it’s not hard to establish sea boundaries with simple footprinting via buoys and noise and other “fences” to thwart unwanted “survey” vessels that try to map your seacoast.
