Preaching to the Chorus [Sen. Byrd leads Code Pink abuse of Gen. Pace]

Byrd's angry theatrics made for a performance reminiscent of Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman." And Byrd did Pacino one better: He invited the audience in the room to join him in heckling the witnesses, creating a responsive Greek chorus.
Emboldened, two dozen hecklers in the audience from the antiwar group Code Pink continued to shout at the witnesses and wave signs for the better part of an hour. Finally, after Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) challenged Pace on his view that homosexuality is immoral, the hearing collapsed as the hecklers shouted down the nation's top military officer.

A bit surprised this hasn't already been posted - I searched at some length for it. If it has been admin please pull this one, thanks.
This is the same KKK Exalted Cyclops who himself refused to serve during WW2 because "I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side", so it probably shouldn't come as a surprise that he encourages the Code Pink terrorists in verbally attacking the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
To: Heatseeker
“We support the troops” they proclaim to the tv cameras and their less code pink supporters. Then they torpedo the renomination of Pace as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and they refuse to vote for Cornyn’s legislation condemning the “betrayus” NY Slimes ad. Michigan’s Karl Lenin and (she’s hardly l’il) Debbie Stabemall joined in both of these shameful episodes. I guess they just support some troops, perhaps the jihad troops?

Why in the World didn’t Gates and Pace just get up and walk out with the parting shot- “please let us know when you are ready to have a civilized dialog because we have much more important things to do other than sit here and listen to your diatribe.” This is what drives me nuts about the republicans - they have no balls whatsoever and refuse to fight back. We need to clone Ann Coulter into a bunch of female and male clones and send them into battle with the democratic scum. Christ! If I hear the words from a republican one more time referring to “my good democrat friend across the aisle,” I think I’m going to puke. They are not, never have been, and never will be the friend of any conservative.

I would guess they didn’t walk out because they felt it was their duty to be there, despite the abuse. Actually that might just have been what the Democrats wanted to drive them to do, so they could have the media spend a week on the arrogance of military leaders and an added excuse for abandoning the troops and the mission.

One would like to think members of the U. S. Senate would be more professional, but considering it is “Sheets Byrd,” and his commie anti war coward pals, probably not.

It says something about how out-of-control the Dems and their allies have become that if things get any worse we will need to be concerned for the physical safety of military officers on Capitol Hill.

“The Iraq people have a right to their home!” one of the hecklers shouted as police led her away.
“Senators,” the chairman retorted, “have a right to have a hearing.”
Translation: “The purpose of this hearing is to get ME on television, not you.”

I think this next general election will be the first I sit out since turning eighteen.

I did. The usual fare for WaPo. Note the posters continuing to use the “General Betray Us” slogan and tie that to Pace who is called all sorts of names.

Oh yeah, and note the first comment:
Never thought Dana Milbank will become the mouthpiece for AIPAC. But then never trust a jew.
Disgusting.

Byrd is a doddering old fool who is more and more senile and venomous with each passing day. Repubs need to make an example out of him to show just how well the dimwts are running the Senate. Not only is he a jerk, he is a dangerous jerk.

ALITO'S CONFIRMATION
Well, it looks like the Senate voted down Kerry's proposed filibuster, so
Alito will likelily be confirmed and become a jewel in the tarnished crown of King George at his Mis-Stake of the Union address today. It looks that way, but I tell you there is still hope! It did feel awfully good to phone Chuck Schumer's office and hear that he was supporting the filibuster--Hillary's line was busy. I intend to email both to thank them--there is probably a lot of pressure on them to not be viewed as a few far-left kooks. Who knows, maybe they have struck some secret deal on "The Hill" which trades
Alito's confirmation for Bush's impeachment.
But until the second
Alito is confirmed, there are certain unorthodox methods of getting things done outside of the legal system. We have our own secret deals and it's time to pull together and go into overdrive!
WITCHES AND
RADICAL FAERIES: I know it's short notice, but see what you can do.
DC PROSTITUTES: Have your cellphone cameras ready to snap
Alito the moment he disrobes. We'll make his wife cry, alright.
TAXI AND LIMOUSINE DRIVERS OF
DC: Be prepared to lose your job to ensure that
Alito is late for each appointment. If you can take a detour and "break down" so that he misses or is late for his actual confirmation, it's a touchdown. And with the press you'd get you could probably start your own DEMOCRATS ONLY car service in the capitol.
DC HAIRDRESSERS: Could you "mess up" on his next appointment and send him to court with a bright new color, patchwork bleach job or mohawk? International press would pick up on the humiliation.
DC TAILORS/ROBE CLEANERS: Have lice and scabies specimens on hand.
FOOD SERVICE WORKERS: I would hate for anyone to get food poisoning and miss work, but....

John Conyers Paid Fine For CodePink Agitator
(snip)
When I stood and publicly agreed with the Committees actions, House Judiciary Committee chair John Conyers said that I could either stop speaking and sit down, or I could leave the hearing room.
(snip)
But this time, after I was detained in the hallway, Congressman Conyers chief of staff joined us and told the police Captain that the Congressman did not want me arrested.
(snip)
>>>Handcuffed, I was driven to the Capitol Police station. As the two hours of processing at that station ended, a member of Congressman Conyers staff came to the station and paid the $35 fine for my disorderly conduct. The police officer who received the money from the Congressmans staff member said that was the first time in her memory that a member of Congress had paid the fine of an activist...<<<
Why wasn’t Byrd ordered to pay a fine? BTW, Code Pink is an ORDERED action. A Code Pink has to be requested and reviewed by a board of people. Who ordered the Code Pink? Byrd should have been arrested to find out.
