We had one guy kill a cop last spring just up the road a piece from me. Joe Citizen came along and killed the guy that killed the cop. He wrapped that package up nice and neat and saved us taxpayers a lot of money.

20 plus years, in Texas. Must have had a heck of good lawyer. I believe 10 1/2 years on death row is the average in Texas, of those that are actually executed, rather than dieing of other causes while awaiting execution.
Meanwhile I imagine there's a bunch of kids in Texas who never got to know their grandma, while her killer got three hots and a cot for 20 years. What a tragedy.
