IMO these perps deserve the death penalty. That being said, I do not think the evidence points to this being a killing based on race. No, it was a murder that was deemed necessary to cover up a burglery.

They didn’t want to face the penalty for burglery, so they sentenced the girl to death.

For that they should pay the ultimate price.

Don’t give me the “they were minors” defense. They were old enough to know they wouldn’t want to die. They knew better.

Put them on trial. Convict them. Excute them.

Can't execute the 16 year old but the other two could get it - they were 18 and 19.

Your scenario sounds believable, but if the girl had been a 12 year old black girl would they have still killed her? I suspect that hatred of whites contributed to the utter contempt they showed for the life of this poor girl.

Probably correct. Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of FReepers lately who are itching to find a racial aspect to any crime -- it almost seems like they have a "revenge" motive.

Pretty ugly way to act, imo....
